Linda “Charlene” Price, 66, of Weirton, WV, passed away Saturday, October 14, 2017, surrounded by her family praying for her, as she took God’s hand into eternal life. Born October 24, 1950, in Clarksburg, WV, she was a daughter of Robert and Genevieve “Linda” Plocharczyk Clevenger of Colliers, WV. She was preceded in death by her father and mother in law, Harland and Libby Price; brothers in law, Mike Johnston, Joe Ennis and Bill Walker. Charlene retired from Weir High School as a math teacher, with her favorite subject being geometry. She will always be remembered as a mentor to her students. She attended the Weirton Salvation Army Church. Charlene liked to go “antiquing”, working in her flower gardens and was very talented at crafts. Most of all, her favorite things were spending time with her family, especially at the family farm in Doddridge County, helping her grandson, Devin, with his homework and watching her favorite TV shows with her husband. In addition to her parents, Charlene is survived by the love of her life Bryon Price, whom she married on April 26, 1974; daughters Amber Hagg (Michael) and Theresa Price, both of Weirton; sisters Roberta Cox (William) of Wellsburg, WV, Brenda Clevenger of Dallas, TX, Shelly Johnston of Weirton and Kelly Clevenger of Colliers and grandchild Devin Price. Additionally survived by nieces P.J. Kadlic (Scott), Carrie Elliot (Ken), Maria Thomas and many great nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Wednesday 4-8 at Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main St, Weirton where additional visitation will be held Thursday 9AM until the 11AM memorial service. Captain Ed Long will officiate. My life has been touched because we have walked a special walk together; because you matter to me; because we are friends; because you have given me courage; because I care and love you. Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. I am so very sorry for your loss. She was a wonderful teacher and I have many memories of her from softball. She always went out of her way to say hello to me when I would see her out and about. She will be missed dearly. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

  2. I’m so very sorry for you loss. She was a beautiful lady who always had a smile on her face. I have a lot of great memories of our days watching our Amber & Mandi playing Little League Soft Ball and then on to Middle & High school. Prayers that God will be with you during this very difficult time.

  3. I am so very sad to hear that Charlene has passed away. She was my best friend in college and we kept in touch while we were both single and lived in different cities, and for a while, after we were both married. Of all the people I’ve met in my 66 years here on earth, Charlene is still the nicest person I’ve ever known. She was always kind, humble and sweet! We had lots of good, clean fun together in college! Although we exchanged Christmas cards, we had actually not seen each other in quite a long time. My heartfelt prayers go out to her husband, her girls, her grandson, her mom and dad, and her sisters! May the Lord comfort you in your loss of such a wonderful person. Whoever put the video together of her did an awesome job! It brought back a lot of memories of her and how she looked and dressed back then – so similar to the the way my sisters and I did. I thank the Lord for putting such a wonderful person in my life when I was young!

    Sincere Sympathy and Prayers,
    Rose Ann (DiGirolamo) Corbin

  4. Dear Bryon, Amber & Terri,
Since moving away from Weirton, I have not had contact with Charlene, but she certainly was in my thoughts often! She’s not someone easily forgotten. I remember how affectionately she spoke of her husband, how proud she was of her daughters, and how excited she was to be a grandma. I remember that she was a great teacher because she held students to high standards, yet she was generous with encouragement and her time if students needed extra help. When I needed a larger classroom that would fit 5 computers, she didn’t hesitate to offer hers to me. She was one of the most unselfish people I’ve known. I know she was loved by her family, but her colleagues at Weir High also loved her because she was always kind and friendly. Though your hearts are heavy, you have reason to celebrate all that was amazing about Charlene and the legacy she has left you.
    Fondly,
    Fay Stump

  5. Dear Kelly and family
I am so sorry for your loss
May God bless you and your family
You and your family are in my prayers and thoughts

  6. Linda, Roberta, Brenda and Shelley……I cannot tell you how sorry I am for your loss. I watched the video and so many memories flooded my mind. Charlene was such a big part of my childhood and I have never forgotten her or your family. I pray for comfort for you all.

  7. Even though I have been gone from Weirton for 13 years, I remember Charlene when I was on staff with her at Weir High School. She was a kind, considerate, and good teacher who care a lot for her students. I extend my sincere condolences to her family.

  8. I have a place for you in my life. I keep you everyday. I share with you my joys and sorrows. I miss you. I love you. Forever.
