margaret cassiadoro
Margaret Panella Cassiadoro, 81, of Weirton, passed away Tuesday, March 7, 2017 in the Life Line Hospital, Wintersville, OH. She was born September 1, 1935 in Aliquippa, PA, a daughter of the late Angelo and Caterina Impronto Panella. She was also preceded in death by her husband Pete Cassiadoro, brothers Nick and Armand Panella and sister Julia Yacoviello. Before moving to Weirton, Margaret worked as a medical secretary. She loved to read, play the slots, watch the sunsets at the beach and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates fan. Her greatest joy was cooking, baking and spending time with her family especially her three grandsons. Margaret hosted the Panella family reunions for the last 38 years where she enjoyed watching 5 generations celebrate their Italian heritage. She was a member of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church and the Christian Mothers. Margaret is survived by her son Jim (Darla) Cassiadoro; daughters Angela Cassiadoro, Diane (Jim) Greco all of Weirton and Melissa Cassiadoro (Dan Dolan) of Tampa, FL and sister Florence Crisi of Aliquippa, PA. She was Nana to her three grandsons, Dante Greco, Dylan (Hanna) Cassiadoro and Angelo Cassiadoro. She also leaves many nieces and nephews. Although sadly missed by those she leaves behind, we take solace in our faith that she is happy with our Lord who has always been an important part of her life and the source of her strength. Visitation will be held Thursday 1-3 and 6-8PM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10am Friday at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church with the Reverend Father Larry Dorsch officiating. Interment will follow in St. Paul Cemetery, Weirton. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, 140 Walnut Street, Weirton, WV 26062.
