Mark David Kesling

Mark David Kesling, of Weirton, WV, died Saturday, January 2, 2021, after complications of COVID 19. He was 60 years old.
Born in Weirton, WV on September 4, 1960, Mark was one of two sons born to Dave and Sandy Kinney Kesling.
Mark graduated from Brooke High School in 1978 and went on to West Virginia University, where he was a member of the WVU Tennis Team.
On November 26, 1983, Mark married his high school sweetheart, from Burgettstown High, Pam Seey.
A metallurgical engineer, Mark worked at Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel for 24 years before accepting a job at Arcelor Mittal in Weirton, where he was currently a supervisor in the tin mill lab.
For fun, Mark enjoyed playing tennis year-round and riding his Harley Davidson. When his son Bryce was involved with termite sports, Mark always volunteered his time as a coach. An avid Pittsburgh Steeler fan, he would plan his schedule around the game.
Mark nourished his faith at Trinity Lutheran Church in Weirton.
He was preceded in death by his father, David Kesling.
He will be remembered with love by his wife, Pam Seey Kesling, his son, Bryce Kesling, his mother, Sandy Kinney Kesling, his brother, Scott Kesling; his niece, Monica Kesling and his nephew, David (Paige) Kesling.
Visitation will be 11 AM until time of funeral services at 1 PM Wednesday at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home 3219 Main Street Weirton, WV.
Private family interment will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Weirton.

I just got done watching The Pink Panther with Steve Martin (2006). I heard you laughing nearly the entire time. You and Pap had that special laugh that instantly brought a smile to everyone else in the room. Miss you and love you.
Mark was in our prayers constantly and know that we continue to pray for Pam, Bryce, Scott, and Sandy and the family through this trying time. He will be sadly missed by all, and we will always remember him as his vibrant self.

You all know how I feel about Mark. The Kesling and Kinney families were raised extremely closely since we were kids, so, Mark was more like a brother/friend to me than a cousin. Before I had to move away from Weirton, I cannot describe how many fond memories I have of my time with him. Our days riding motorcycles, playing racquetball after work, lifting weights in your garage, sharing our boat dock together on the OH river (Cousins’ Cove)….I could go on and on. I loved to hear him laugh, which was typically AT me, not WITH me because I always seemed to be doing something stupid! 🙂 Mark was truly one of the nicest guys that I ever knew and we will all miss him dearly.
I remember Mark from Termite Basketball when we coached against each other. He was a good guy. My sympathies to your family

I worked with Mark for many years at Yorkville. He was a great person to work for, and our working relationship endured many trials and tribulations. Mark always treated me with the utmost respect, and I think he knew that he could always depend on me. My deepest condolences to Pam and Bryce. He spoke of you both with so much pride. I remember Mark from Edgewood Grade School. He was a sweet kid, very smart, and funny. My mother still lives in Weirton and shared the news of his passing. I am very sorry for your loss.
Played baseball at Termite Fields with Mark. Still have the trophy when we won the Seniors Championship with the Cardinals. His Dad devoted endless hours coaching us young kids that I will never forget. Prayers to his wife and family.

My friend it’s been a week since I was told I still can’t believe. Spent my childhood with you guys. Then life gets in the way everyone goes their separate ways. We ran into each other occasionally . We always enjoyed catching up. The last time at your dads. We made plans to ride and just never got to it. How I wish we had. One other thing we were young and going to enter the Pitch Hit and throw contest in weirton. I felt so bad you cut your finger just before the event and couldn’t compete. As it turned out I won. I never told you but you would have beaten me! So many memories of basketball and baseball I’ll never forget. So so sorry to all family Mike Robinson

I’m so very sorry to hear of Mark’s passing. We played Termite basketball together and with Mark as our team Captain we won our League Championship. I remember when Mark’s father would give me a ride home and we always stopped at Dairy Queen for ice cream. Great memories with a great family! I’m very sorry for your loss.
