Martha Jean Sapos of Weirton died January 23, 2009 at her home. Born May 12, 1919 in Jefferson PA, she was the daughter of the late Henry E. Davis and Jessica L. Spicer Davis. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Ben J. Sapos on August 23, 1992, three brothers, Frank and Ray of Weirton, and Harry of Dayton, OH, and two sisters, Edith Kerr of Weirton, and Kathryn Sharp of Willoughby, OH. Martha Jean was a homemaker, a member of Cove Presbyterian church, a life long member of the Weirton Medical Center Auxiliary, and the AARP. Martha Jean's survivors include her daughter Joyce Powell of Weirton, WV, grandsons Stephen and Erica Amendola, with whom she resided, and Michael Amendola of Weirton, and Marc Amendola of Daytona Beach, FL, and one great grand daughter Michaela Amendola of Weirton. There will be no visitations. Interment will be at the Chestnut Ridge Cemetery in Florence, PA. Arrangements are under the care and guidance of the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main St, Weirton, WV.
