Patti was a true and loyal friend to me both at OHare and San Francisco. When we both moved there in ’83 I was delighted to share my new life experience with her. We had so much fun and some great moments which have been going around in my head since I learned of Patti’s passing. I haven’t seen Patti for probably 18 years, but I miss her and feel a big hole that she is no longer gracing all around her with her charm, beauty and wit. I loved her and she was a dear friend. Linda Grant

  4. Since I was very young, Patti fueled my desire to fly by getting me on airplane ramps and inside airline cockpits. She introduced me to pilots that had just come out of the miiitary. I still have a very unique set of colored aircraft prints that she went out of her way to give me. I had a chance to visit her and Mary Jo in Ca, and we have stayed in touch over the years as much as any other family member. I’ll miss her.

  5. We had a common nickname for each other “Old Bat”. Once on a flight in First class we had the whole cabin laughing at the two of us. Patti and fun meant the same thing. I’m gonna miss you “old Bat”.

  6. My sincere condolences I was a friend of Pat’s brother Joe in Gary, Ind and Pat was always very kind to me. She even insisted that I call her Aunt Pat. We talked on the phone regularly and I will miss her. Jack Mauer

  19. To Patti’s family: I am among the many who have had the pleasure of knowing Patti, even briefly. When ever she was visiting her brother Joe, she usually joined us at a meeting and always we all were enriched by her words and precence. I am sure she will be greatly missed by all who have known her. May God console you in this trying tim. With Love, Art Chinery

  20. Madame Aunt Patti She was richly dignified, And her value was priceless, Her next worldly adventure, Was anyone’s guess? Her home sweet home Was not Maryland Heights, But rather Ireland, Paris, And those African nights. She went by train, bus, and plane In every and any which way, And whoever was lucky To sit next to her, Probably still remembers her To this day. Traveling was not just a hobby, At United she had a second family, And as the people would leave the plane She’d say, “Thanks for flying with Patti”. She had twinkle toes that danced on the stars, Like she was prancing from cloud to cloud, While her partners admired her from afar, She would graciously take a bow. AA was a huge staple in her life, It was in this area she had so much to give, While many were beginning to lose their strife, She gave them a reason to live. I know she touched so many people’s lives, Because now they all come to her will, And you can see it in their eyes, Their emptiness she has fulfilled. My Aunt Patti was chic, sophisticated, and smart, And embodied a woman I am going to miss, Honor her the best way you know how, And blow her kisses because she’s IRISH! I’m going to love you forever Aunt Patti! God Bless You Mary Jo & Mike Ricki & Belinda Love, Ash

  21. Dear Family of Patti Mulligan Ellis: Please accept my deepest sympathy on the loss of your mother, grandmother and aunt. It has been many years since I’ve seen Patti. They were a big part of what made our old neighborhood so special. I pray that our Dear Lord will be your comfort and peace in the days ahead and that our Blessed Mother will wrap her arms of consolation around you. Josie (Oliver) Cekinovich

  26. Dear Patti, Since I have to say goodbye to you forever and I can’t say goodbye to you in person, I write this of my memory of our friendship. However many hundreds of miles between at this moment you are, and will forever be my best friend. You made all of our jobs bearable at good old United with a good joke or two while you helped us solve many problems while wearing a bright smile on your face. I remember when you and Mary Jo saved my life and I will forever be grateful. I pray that you rest in the Lord’s keep. And finally, I say that I am sorry that you left us and I will miss your warm friendship terribly. Love-Jeanne H. Reid
