patricia angelo
Patricia T. Angelo, of Weirton, died Sunday, March 14, 2021, with her family at her side, at the Weirton Medical Center. She was 87. Patricia was born in Weirton, WV on February 14, 1934, one of four children born to John and Arestia (Mahera) Deligiannis. Patricia grew up in Weirton and graduated from Weir High School. After graduation, while working for the canteen, she met Benny Angelo. The two were both from Greek families, and they went on a double date, with Benny’s cousin, Irene Tsapis. On January 24, 1951, she married Stanley “Benny” Angelo. In their nearly 50 years of marriage, they were blessed with five children, six grandchildren, and eventually four great-grandchildren. Benny worked 45 years at Weirton Steel as a brick mason, and Patricia was a homemaker. She also worked part-time in the linen and housewares department at Stone and Thomas in Weirton from 1977-1989. Patricia had a creative eye. She was very good at decorating and was very talented in making ceramics. She also enjoyed tending to her plants and feeding the birds off of her back porch. In her free time, she enjoyed watching soap operas and playing cards with her card club. She nourished her faith at the All Saints Greek Orthodox Church in Weirton. Most of all Patricia will be remembered for the love she had for her family. She cherished every minute she could spend with them. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley “Benny” Angelo, on December 28, 1998; grandson, Michael J. Angelo; son-in-law William “Billy D.” Doyle; her brother, Nick Deligiannis; and sisters, Fannie Monski and Stacia Deligiannis. She is survived by her children, Patricia J. Doyle, Karen (Chuck) Karavanic, Gus (Mary K.), John (Karen), and David (Brenda Sandy) Angelo; her grandchildren, Carly, Jonathan (Emily), and Leslie Angelo, Janna (Mark Snyder), and Jillian Karavanic; four great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Thursday 10 AM until the time of services at 11 AM at the All Saints Greek Orthodox Church, Weirton. Interment will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
