Patty L. Mateusiak
April 3, 1935 ~ October 20, 2019
Patty L. Mateusiak, 84, passed away peacefully surrounded by family Sunday, October 20, 2019.
Born April 3, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Antonio Amendola and Jennie Amendola Pialet.
On July 28, 1956, she married the love of her life, Frank Mateusiak, who precedes her in death after nearly 62 years of marriage. Also preceded in death is brother, Anthony Amendola.
Patty found great joy in she and Frank raising their twins, Jennifer and Theresa, giving them the gifts of faith and education and watching them flourish in the world.
Patty had a gift of making everyone feel welcome in her home and treated as family. Over the years, many were touched by her gift of cooking, generosity, radiating smile and warm heart. She was affectionately called “Boo Boo” by siblings and friends, but of all her names her favorite was “Grandma” as her grandchildren were her pride and joy who she loved so dearly.
She will be missed by all, especially daughters Jennifer (Chris) Grecko of Clinton, PA, Theresa (Greg) Anderson of Frederick, MD, granddaughters Jocelyn (Steven) Ebert, Rachel Anderson, great grandchildren Sienna and Colson, brother Joe (Joann) Amendola, sisters Frances Eafrati, Mary (Guy) Auteri and countless nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received Wednesday 5-8 at Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main St. Weirton, WV, where a Rosary will be recited at 6 PM. A Mass of Christian burial will be held Thursday at 11 at Sacred Heart of Mary Church, Rev. Tony Thurston will preside. Burial will follow at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.
Memorial contributions may be made to Sacred Heart of Mary Church, 200 Preston Ave. Weirton, WV.

I had the honor of living next to Patty Lou. I can’t remember a time when she was not smiling. She had a heart of Gold. She always brought out the best in others. She was truly a woman of God. She did all she could to make this world a better place. Although she will be missed here on earth, I feel comfort knowing that she is once again reunited with Hobo and her Lord and Savior. I offer Prayers and Comfort to her Family. Jeff Mallas
Patty and Hobo lived at Wyngate for quite a few years. They kept the folks in the cul de sac coming down to share dinner in the private dining room. Once they moved the group slowly stopped coming down. She kept the folks close, inviting them to come down to dinner every night. There was so much laughter every night in that private dinning room that the assisted living resident who laugh also. Both Patty and Hobo were a valuable commodity to our Wyngate family. They were good neighbors and friends. We will miss them dearly. God bless your family.
