Raymond H. McCoy, 76, of Colliers, passed away Wednesday, March 16, 2005 at the Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA. Born May 23, 1928 in Holly River, WV, he was the son of the late Cecil and Amanda Hammonds McCoy. Raymond was also preceded in death by his wife Iona “Geri”(Foster) McCoy on May 2, 1998 and brother Leslie McCoy. After 36 years of service, Raymond retired from Weirton Steel where he worked as a mechanic in the Company Garage. He attended the First United Methodist Church, was a member of the WSX 25-Year Club, Colliers Sportsman’s Club, Spoon Pluggers Fishing Club of Weirton and the Lay-Z-Elk Lodge in Colorado. He also served in the US Marine Corps. Raymond’s survivors include his son Raymond McCoy and his wife Sue of Follansbee; daughters Melba Mellott and her husband Ron of Follansbee, Janet Moore and her husband Ed of Weirton, Barbara Nestor and her husband Andy of Belington, WV and Jane McCoy of Colliers; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; brothers Dennis McCoy of Belington, WV and Emil McCoy of Reno, OH and sister Melba Rinehart of Belington, WV. The family will receive friends Friday from 2-4 and 7-9PM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton. Additional visitation will be held Saturday from 12PM until the 1PM funeral service at the First United Methodist Church, 3301 West Street, Weirton with Reverend Dr. Timothy Allen, Reverend Dr. Gary Shepard and Reverend Dennis McCoy, Jr. presiding.   1. What a kind, sweet, wonderful man. I am so thankful that Robbie and Ryan are going to have such fond memories of you to keep with them. Not everyone is fortunate enough to get to know their Great-Grandfather the way they know you. They will miss you dearly as will I.
