Raymond Lee Lewis, 67, of Weirton, passed away Friday, May 26, 2006 at the Akron General Hospital in Akron, Ohio. Born May 21, 1939 in Martins Ferry, Ohio, he was the son of the late Raymond and Rose Merzi Lewis. After 37 years of service, Raymond retired from Weirton Steel where he worked as a sheet mill scheduler. He also worked as a driver for D’Anniballe Services in Steubenville. He was a member of the Cove Presbyterian Church, AF&AM Ohio City Lodge 0486 and was a Charter Member of the Weirton Lions Club 22 where he served as board member and secretary. Raymond’s survivors include his wife Suellen Mozena Lewis of Weirton, whom he married in May, 1962; daughters Robin Lynn Hukill and her husband Quint of Weirton, Dana Sue Dragonir and her husband Rodney of New Cumberland and Nancy Lewis of Follansbee, WV and his dog Quincy. He was a very proud “Pop Pop” to Kendall and Quintin Hukill and Ryan and Hanna Dragonir. The family will receive friends Monday 6-8PM and Tuesday 2-4 and 6-8PM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, where funeral services will be conducted at 11AM Wednesday with Reverend Terry Stoops presiding. Interment will be in Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, Ohio.   1. Ray was the husband of Susie who is a first cousin of my mom, Mary Kay. Ray had a great sense of humor. What I will remember most about Ray is his love of books, and his generosity with passing books on to the next reader. He was an avid mystery story reader, as am I. Ray was always a source of strength for my family and for that I thank him. The Lord will reward Ray for his kind soul.

  6. Ray lived next to my Mom, Pauline Bradley, and was hlpful and kind when my step-father passed away. Even after everything he came by to check up, and when we put my Mom in Serra Manor his Mom was there, too and we continued being friends. I am so sorry of your loss. Ray was a great person.   7. Dear Family, I have known your father since Oct.05 when i started as a dispatcher at the ambulance service. I have come to know your father as a warm, caring man. He was so nice to me. It was nice to see him in the morning to pick up his paper work, when I work midnight. I was very sadden to hear of him passing. I lost my mother suddenly to, 2 months ago.   13. Dear Lewis family, we were saddened to hear of Ray’s passing. I will never forget him stopping by while walking the dog and talking to us. He always had a way of finding the good in a bad situation. We will miss him as a good dear friend. We regret not being able to make it to tthe funeral home. I know in her own way Nancy will miss her dad.He always brought a smile to her face.I hope he knows we will always take good care of his little girl.Our sympathy and prayers are with the Lewis family.

Janet and I have been away from the area for a long time, so all we have are our memories of the folks who have touched our lives.
