rose parks
Rose Marie Parks of Washington, PA., passed away peacefully at Ann’s Country Retreat in Wellsburg on Sunday, April 24, after a lengthy illness. She was 80 years old. She was born on April 5, 1942, in Windber, PA., one of three children to the late John and Mary Korzi Majoris. Rose was a member of Saint Paul Roman Catholic Church and a 1960 graduate of Madonna High School, furthering her studies at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh. She retired after thirty years of service with Bell Telephone Company as Head of the Graphics Department, a department which she initially established. In addition to her love of art, she also loved her farm and all the animals she managed over the years. The special connection she had with her horses led her to breed and barrel racing. Her family said she was the hardest working lady you have ever seen. It was common for Rose to make something for you, she was incredibly talented. She enjoyed making old-world Santa Clauses for her friends and family. Remembering Rose with love is her husband Byron Jerry Parks, whom she married on May 25, 1990, brothers Richard (Fran) Majoris of Weirton and Gregory (Bonnie) Majoris of Toronto. Friends and relatives will be received Tuesday from 4 PM- 8 PM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 MainStreet Weirton, WV where services will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday. Fr. Babu Joseph Elamturuthil will officiate. Interment will be at the convenience of the family. Share tributes at www.grecohertnick.com

  6. Wishing you peace to bring comfort, courage to face the days ahead and loving memories to forever hold in your hearts.

  7. Rose was perhaps the most influential person in my life. She taught me so much about life, love, giving, and laughing. (I also remember that fierce temper!) Too many memories to write here but are etched in my heart. I considered her my sister. Simply put, Rose was magic. I thank God that she was in my life.

  8. Rose was a very special woman that always made me feel so loved. I remember my first horse ride with her, dancing at the telephone company event, and my first experience in a sweat lodge! In Grandma Majoris’s words “May God bless you and keep you in his loving care during this difficult time”.

  9. Deepest sympathy to the family of Rose. I have such fond memories of my dear cousin growing up. She will be in my prayers. Love cousin Rita from MI.

  10. Rick & Greg, My deepest condolences for the loss of your sister. I shared a special connection with Rose. What a smart, talented, wonderful woman. My prayers and thoughts are with you.
