Samuel E. Robbins, 90, of Weirton WV, passed away Saturday, February 11, 2017 at the Weirton Medical Center. Born December 29, 1926 in Weirton WV, he was the son of the late Meyer and Goldie (Harris) Rabinovitz. He was also preceded in death by his sister Evelyn Robbins and in-laws Stephen and Iola (Swango) Gorsky. Sam was a Navy Veteran, serving in WWII on the Destroyer Tender USS Yosenite. Sam was employed at Weirton Steel Corporation as a Crane Operator in the BOP. He was a member of the Weirton Elks Lodge 1801, Moose Lodge 688, VFW 2716, American Legion Post 10 and the WSX 25-year club. He is survived by his wife of 62 years Sandra (Sandy Gorsky) Robbins; daughter Lisa Robbins of Orangevale, CA; son Mark and Joanne Robbins of Millis, MA; grandchildren Brian Sunderman, Victoria and Michael Robbins. In keeping with Sam's wishes there will be no visitation and a private service will be held at the convenience of the family. Diggy is at peace now and a very strong spiritual connection has taken place in his passing. There was magic in that enormous full moon, magic in that copper penny , and magic in the number 11! I have so much faith that Gram was waiting for Sam! Be open to all the spiritual signs that the angels show us.   6. I’m sorry to hear of Mr. Robbin’s passing. He always had a smile and a wave for me as I walked my dog by his house. I will miss seeing him around the neighborhood. I wish the family peace and comfort during this sad time.

  7. Sandra, I was saddened to hear of Sam’s passing. I truly enjoyed his annual visit with you to the office for taxes. No one will wield my red sharpie like he did! Hopefully, he passed on his copious note taking skills to you. he did. My prayers go out to you.
