sharon jarrell
A precious soul went to be with the Lord. Sharon Lee Jarrell died on Wednesday, August 5, 2020. Surrounded by her family at her home in Follansbee, WV. Sharon was born on September 27th, 1946 to the late Edward Elwood Williams, Jr., and Leona Mae Forsythe Williams. Sharon was just barely two pounds when she was born on Lazear’s Lane in Wellsburg. She was raised in a home made from a chicken coup, a home made by love, and surrounded by God. Sharon loved God with all her heart, soul, and mind and was a faithful member of Wellsburg United Pentecostal Church, thereafter the Christian Life Apostolic Church, and the Apostolics of the Upper Ohio Valley. God gave Sharon the gift of music, playing the organ, piano, and the accordion by ear, never receiving a lesson or the ability to read music. Sharon was well known for her talent for music, sewing, baking, and craft-making. In 1957, Sharon was baptized in Jesus’s name and filled with the Holy Ghost. God was the center of her life and she lived each day to serve him. On June 6th, 1969, Sharon married Billy Wayne Jarrell of Eros, Louisiana, and lived her life being a homemaker raising five children. During her lifetime, She had several jobs, working at Federman’s Store in Wellsburg, as a nurse’s aide at the William Penn Nursing Home, and REM. In addition to her parents and her husband, Billy Wayne, Sharon was preceded in death by her great-grandson, Brayden Scott Colvin, her brothers, Joel Thomas Williams, Gary (Linda) Williams, and Timothy (Debbie) Williams. Sharon will be remembered with love by her children, Sharilyn (Scott) Colvin of Weirton, WV, Thomas Jarrell of Follansbee, WV, Rachel (Christopher) McCune of Beech Bottom, Sarah and Alana Jarrell both of Follansbee, WV; her four siblings, Ronald (Sandy) Williams, Marla (George) Killien, Nila (Stanley) Potkoski, and Randy (Brenda) Williams; her grandchildren who Sharon loved with all her heart, Mariah and Andrew Colvin, Brittiny and Hannah McCune, JoeAnna and Raine Jarrell; her great-grandchildren, Annabelle and Carl Colvin and two more on their way. Before Sharon passed, she wished that she could only be around long enough to hold her new great-grandbabies. Second, only to God, her family was the center of her life, loving her cousins from the Williams and Forsythe families and her extended family in Louisiana. Throughout Sharon’s life, she suffered from multiple medical conditions and endured many surgeries. Through it all Sharon trusted God and now there are no more heartaches, there is no more pain. The visitation will be 4:00 to 8:00 PM Friday at the Apostolic’s of the Ohio Valley Church in Beech Bottom, WV, where the funeral church service will be held at 11:OO AM Saturday with a visitation being held one hour before the service. MASKS ARE REQUIRED TO ATTEND THE VISITATION AND FUNERAL The funeral service will be officiated by Pastor Jay Armstrong, assisted by Pastor Larry Walbrown, Pastor David Forsythe, and Pastor George White. If it is your desire to attend the church service to celebrate Sharon's life be prepared for a lot of singing and having a little bit of church in the way Apostolic's only know how to do it. Sharon will be buried next to her husband and her parents at Highland Hill Memorial Gardens, in Follansbee, WV. Share tributes and memories at www.grecohertnick.com 304 748 3219

  4. Sharon played music during church and when she would come off of the music, back to her seat, she would hold me. I remember stories of my parents and Sharon telling me how I would look through all the things in her purse during the preaching. I remember being told how she loved me like I was her very own baby. Years passed and I grew up and had the honor of visiting and had Sharon and Billy visit me in Tennessee. It was during those visits that I recalled the stories of how much they loved me, and as an adult, I could feel the love they had for me. Oh how I wish I could turn back the time. Life passes so swiftly and all I have left now are the memories, the precious memories.

  5. Randy and family, my deepest condolences in the loss of your wonderful sister. Just know you all are in my prayers. Love you very much!
