Victor A. White
September 9, 1913 ~ February 22, 2001
Victor A. White, 87, a Weirton resident since 1927, died Thursday, Feb 22, in Weirton. He was born September 25,1913 in Bradley, OH, son of the late Anthony White and Virginia Pugelli White. He was preceded in death by his wife Edith Wilson White, whom he married in 1954. Three brothers, James, William & Robert and three sisters Anita Laurine, Lucille Rondy and Viola Pizzoferato.
Mr. White was the owner of White Insurance agency for 35 years, and retired in 1979. He was a Deputy Assessor for Brooke County from 1956-60. Also, he was appointed Justice of the Peace in 1961 and was elected for two more terms until 1972. He was a member of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, St. Paul Holy Name Society, and local & national chapter of A.A.R.P. He served in the Army during WWII as a Tech 3 sergeant, from 1942 to 1945. Before WWII, Mr. White was a scoutmaster and after the war he served as Scout commissioner in the Weirton District. He was also a Notary Public in Weirton for 28 years.
He is survived by a son, Mark B. White, Weirton, a daughter, Mrs. Larry (Vicki J.) Gaston, Weirton, and two sisters; Emmaline Tucci and Mrs. Christopher (Doris) DeCesare.
Visitation will be Saturday, from 7-9 PM and Sunday, 1-3 pm and 7-9 pm at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, Weirton. Funeral liturgy with mass will be 10:00 AM, Monday at the St. Paul Church, Weirton.
Entombment will be in St. Paul Cemetery with military services conducted by American Legion Post 10 Honor Guard, V.F.W. #2716 Firing Squad and Tri State Marine Corp
Memorial contributions can be made to St. Paul Church, 140 Walnut St., Weirton and Valley Hospice, 380 Summit Ave., Steubenville, OH
