W. Dean DeLaMater

W. Dean DeLaMater, 65, of Weirton died Monday November 20, 2000 at the Weirton Medical Center. He was born in Parkersburg, WV on December 7, 1934, the son of the late R. Griffin and Margaret Forrer DeLaMater. Dean graduated from Parkersburg High School in 1952, Miami of Ohio University in 1956 and the West Virginia University School of Law in 1959. He practiced law in Weirton sice 1961 and was a partner in the law firm of DeLaMater and Hagg. He was a trustee of saint Thomas Episcopal Church in Weirton; Past President of the Hancock County Bar Association and of the Defense Trial Counsel of WV; Board of Governors of the West Virginia Bar Association; BPOE 1801; NRA and Former National Civilian Champion at the Small Bore Rifle Championships. He is survived by his wife, Gail Pease DeLaMater of Weirton, whom he married on November 8, 1958; two sons, Robert G. DeLaMater and his wife Kristen of Hong Kong and Mark S. DeLaMater of Saint Petersburg, FL; a daughter Mrs. Stanley (Susan) Niamatali of Martinsburg, WV; four grandchildren, William, Philip,Maxwell and Margaret DeLaMater all of Hong Kong. Friends received 2-4 7 7-9 PM Tuesday at the Greco- Hertnick Funeral Home 3219 Main Street, Weirton, WV, where services will be held 10 AM Wednesday, with the Rev. Larry D. Jackson officiating.
