William E. "Bill" Porter

William E. "Bill" Porter, 89, of Weirton died February 19, 2017, at the Weirton Medical Center.
Born on September 11, 1927, in Steubenville, OH, Bill was a son of the late Floyd and Wynema McClish Porter. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Carmella Griaziani Porter, in 1976 and his second wife, Mary Ellen "Molly" Hughes Binkoski Porter in 2006; and a brother, Floyd Porter.
A Merchant Marine in World War II, Bill retired as an electrician from Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel after 44 years of service.
Bill enjoyed golfing with his friends at Highland Springs and Woodview, and looked forward to his golf trips to Myrtle with his son. He and his wife Molly loved to travel and would often head west to visit family.
Bill is survived by his blended family which include four sons, William and Brenda Porter of Ney, OH, Robert and Myra Porter of Houston, TX, Tim and Darlene Binkoski of Billings, MT, and Dan Binkoski of Las Vegas, NV; two daughters, Linda Kay and Frank Melchor of Las Vegas, NV and Pam and Thomas McCune of Hookstown, PA; 15 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; and his pride and joy his little poodle, Joy.
Bill was a member of Saint Paul's Roman Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus 3734, Fourth Degree Assembly, BPOE 1801 and the Loyal Order of the Moose 688.
Private family services will be held at the convenience of his family.
Entombment will be in the Mount Calvary Cemetery, Steubenville, OH.
In recognition of Bill's love for animals memorial contributions may be made to the Hancock County Animal Shelter 715 Gas Valley Road, New Cumberland, WV 26047.
Cremation arrangements are under the care of Greco Hertnick Funeral Home 3219 Main Street Weirton

Bill, I am so glad I got to see you a couple of months ago. we reminisced about so many memories. You were always one of my favorite cousins. I couldn’t forget the many art projects we worked on when I was in grade school. I always got an A when you assisted. You were a wonderful artist. So talented. God bless you and keep you in the hollow of his hand.
