william bilderback
William Elmore Bilderback of Weirton passed away Tuesday, December 1, 2020, at his childhood residence on Pikeview Road after a long illness surrounded by his family; he was 73 years old. He was born October 12, 1947, in Steubenville, the middle child of five of his late parents, Edward and Antoinette Karzauski Bilderback. He was also preceded in death by his brother Edward Bilderback and sisters Annette Gardener and Nancy Kowalski. William was employed at the former Weirton Steel Corporation, retiring after 33 years from the hot mill as a scheduler. A graduate of Weir High in 1965, a member of the American Legion Post 10, William enlisted and was a proud member of the United States Army, obtaining Sargeant's rank during the Vietnam War. William was everyone's friend. His happy-go-lucky personality drew people to him. He was very spiritual, often finding himself at his kitchen table reading and writing scripture. Additionally, he sometimes would question the televangelist saying, "You are wrong!" He was an avid fisherman, enjoyed coin collecting, but most of all, he was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 18 years, Jean Churchman Bilderback, son Patrick (Marsha) Bilderback of Belleview, Pa., Barry Bilderback of Pittsburgh, Pa., daughter Marlena (Tom) Muzzi of Weirton, grandchildren Gaubriella and Luca Muzzi of Weirton. A private service will take place at the convenience of his family. Share tributes and memories at www.grecohertnick.com 304-748-3219.

  2. I’m so sorry to read of Bill’s passing. I worked with him back in the 1970s and 80s at Weirton Steel. Bill was an excellent worker who also found time to make his co-workers laugh. I particularly remember his Elvis impersonations. Great person who had a smile for everyone. I’m sorry for your loss and hope the many wonderful memories will replace the sorrow you are feeling now.

  3. We were neighbors with Bill and his family for many years and our children were friends growing up. We express our sincerest condolences to his family at this time. Larry, Judy and Amy Gareis

  4. I am so sorry for your loss Jeannie and Gordon, and the whole family. I met Bill when I was just a teen ager and he and his brother were in a band. He truly did have a winning personality. I am sure he will be sadly missed by the family and all close to him. I appreciate his service to our country and his long employment in Weirton Steel. I feeI connected in that way as my husband is also a Vietnam veteran and is still employed at Arcelor Mittal, which was Weirton Steel. I am sad that he is gone and I know my sister Cher and Gordon are grieving. Bless all your hearts with peace.

  5. I wanted to offer my condolences, for the loss of your father. I understand the sadness of losing a parent. Blessings to the family. May your father rest in great peace.
