Albert DiAntonio, 84, of Columbus, Ohio formerly of Weirton, passed away Thursday, April 28, 2011 in the Mt. Carmel East Hospital, Columbus. Born August 3, 1926 in Steubenville, OH, he was a son of the late Biaggio and Elizabeth Valenti DiAntonio. He was also preceded in death by his brother James DiAntonio and sisters Christine Christopher, Ida Sieminski, Mary Hruschak and Rose Marie DiAntonio. Mr. DiAntonio retired from Weirton Steel after 39 years of service, where he worked in the Coke Plant. He was a member of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus 3734, The Four Seasons Club and WSX 25-Year Club. He was an avid Weir High, WVU , Notre Dame, North Carolina, Navy and Pittsburgh Steelers fan, but most recently cheered for the Ohio State Buckeyes. Albert is survived by his wife Martha Karas DiAntonio of Columbus; sons Anthony DiAntonio of Blacklick, OH; Albert DiAntonio, Jr. and his wife Patricia of Pickerington, OH and Michael DiAntonio and his wife Tina of Fayetteville, NC and grandchildren Cassandra, Carly, Alicia, Austin, Tyler and Haley DiAntonio. Friends will be received Sunday from 3-7PM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated 1PM Monday at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church. The Reverend Father Larry Dorsch will officiate. Entombment will be in St. Paul Cemetery, Weirton. Memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association, P. O.   2. I was so sad to hear about Al’s passing. My heart goes out to Martha & their three sons and grandchildren. Al was one of the nicest person you’d ever want to meet. I had the pleasure of meeting him only a few years ago,I would go into his and Martha’s place often. I loved to hear him tell stories from his younger days. Especially about him and Martha’s wedding day! Al will surely be missed not only for his sense of humor but, his singing and his composing of the songs’ he sang.
