Alice Irene Kafton, 88 of Weirton, WV died Thursday, August 25, 2016, in the Skilled Care Unit of The Laurels in Steubenville, OH. Born March 15, 1928 in Colliers, WV, she was a daughter of the late John and Helen Zembry Barezinsky. She is also preceded in death by her brothers Richard and John Barezinsky, sister, Jane Krzys and son-in-law Roy Mallory Sr. Alice retired from Wheeling Hospital as a patient testing technician. She was a member of Saint Paul Roman Catholic Church, Freedom Place Tennants Club and the Red Hat Society. When Alice wasn't spending time with her daughter and grandchildren, she enjoyed volunteering at the Weirton Senior Citizens Center. She is survived by her daughter, Selva Mallory of Follansbee, WV; grandchildren Roy Mallory of Follansbee, and Denise (Jared) Smith of Weirton, WV; great grandchildren Austin and Khalib; brother, Stanley Barezinsky of Wintersville, OH; and two sisters, Patricia Enrietti, of Weirton, WV, and Regina Cupp of Natural Bridge, VA. Visitation will be held Sunday 1-3 and 5-8 PM at Greco Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, WV, where funeral services will be held Monday at 11 AM. Reverend Father Larry Dorsch will officiate. Interment will follow in St. Paul cemetery. Her family would like to thank Dr. Coronius, Dr. Thimmiah, Acuity Hospital, and the Skilled Care Unit of The Laurels for their wonderful and loving care.
