Amanda Kay Williams

Amanda Kay Williams, of Weirton, WV, passed away at her home on April 14, 2024.

Born on February 15, 1968, in E. W. Newfoundland, Canada, Amanda lived a life marked by resilience, independence, and unwavering kindness. She was 56 years old.
Amanda’s vibrant spirit and sociable nature endeared her to all who knew her. Her sweetness and warmth touched the lives of many, leaving lasting impressions wherever she went.

A graduate of Paden City High School, class of 1986, Amanda distinguished herself as the head cheerleader, showcasing her leadership and team spirit early on. In 1992, fate intervened when she met Steven Williams before his service in the Army.

Prior to a tragic car accident that changed the course of her life, Amanda excelled as an apartment manager in El Paso, TX. The accident claimed the life of her mother, Julia Marie Swiger Hamilton, and left Amanda with enduring physical challenges. Despite these obstacles, she faced life with courage and grace, inspiring all who knew her.

Amanda leaves behind a legacy of love and resilience. She is survived by her children, Darion Hamilton and Destyni Williams, as well as her adored grandchildren, Skyla and Delilah. She is also survived by her father, Richard Marion Hamilton, and his wife Terry Joyce Smith Hamilton, along with her sisters, Melissa Fort and Angela Henley.

In Amanda’s passing, her family and friends mourn the loss of a remarkable woman whose spirit will live on in the hearts of those she touched. Her memory will forever be cherished, and her legacy of love and kindness will continue to inspire generations to come.

A celebration of Amanda’s life will be held at a later date where friends and family will gather to honor her memory and share stories of her extraordinary life.

Amanda was cremated at the Greco Hertnick Funeral Home’s Crematory 3219 Main Street Weirton, WV 26062.
