
Anna M. Cook
June 22, 1920 ~ December 8, 2008
Anna M. Cook, 88, of Weirton, passed away Monday, December 8, 2008 at her home surrounded by her family. Born June 22, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Stephen and Susanna Smerecansky. She was also preceded in death by her husband Samuel H. Cook in 1995, son William Cook, sisters Susanne Smerecansky, Mary Lipinski and Ethel George and brothers Andy, John and Steve Smerecansky.
Mrs. Cook was a homemaker and a member of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church. She was a former member of the Catholic Daughters of America, Steel Valley Women's Bowling League and Three Score Senior Citizens Club.
Anna is survived by her sons Jon (Judy), Samuel Herbert, Jr. (Bonnie) and Richard Cook; daughters Judy (Daniel) Zajac and Cathy (Rudy) Nagy all of Weirton; eleven grandchildren Tracy (J.R.) Ross, John Cook, Jr., Daniel (Tracy) Zajac, Jr., Shelly (Mike) Fuscardo, Kathy (Jeff) Quickle, Tim (Jennifer) Zajac, Lori Underwood, Christopher Cook, Scott Cook, Kristen Cook and Rudy S. Nagy; 16 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received Wednesday from 4-8PM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated 10AM Thursday at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church. Interment will be in Chestnut Ridge Cemetery, Florence, PA.

Jon, Judy, Herb, Kathy, and Rick, I’m so sorry to hear of your Mom’s passing. I’ve been sick for 3 days and couldn’t attend the services. She will be sadly missed in the neighborhood.
