Anna Mae Spencer, 87 of New Cumberland, WV, died December 20, 2015 at her home. Born October 4, 1928 in Union, SC, she was a daughter of the late Henry and Sillar (Jeter) Pendergrast. In addition to her parents, Anna is also preceded in death by her husband James Lovice Spencer, brothers Robert, William "Bill" and Henry "Jr." Pendergrast, sisters Hazel Dawkins and Mable Stevens. Anna retired from the Weirton Medical Center housekeeping department. She enjoyed going to the Roger's flea market, trips to the Apple Orchard and shopping. She is survived by her sons James L. (Linda) Spencer, and Henry L. (Donna) Spencer of Weirton, Charles M. (Vicky) Spencer of Jacksonville, NC, Lamont J. (Donna) Spencer of Weirton and Ronnie Atkins of Burgettstown, who was like a son to her; daughters Vivian J. (Ray) Lyons and Kim Y. (Roger) Youngblood both of Weirton, Angela (John) Taylor of Wintersville, OH, and Pamela D. (Terence) Stafford of Frederick, MD; brothers Paul (Normie) Pendergrast of Canton, OH, Hugh (Ruth) and James Pendergrast, both of Weirton, and Richard Pendergrast of SC; sisters Lucille Colliers and Dorothy Lee, both of Weirton; 32 grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and close family friends Paul Young and Kenneth Holmes. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 5-8PM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, and on Monday from 10 AM until the 11 AM Funeral Service at Morning Star Baptist Church, 3124 Weir Avenue, Weirton, WV. Pastor Willie L. Nevels will officiate. Interment will follow at Highland Hills Memorial Gardens, Follansbee, WV.
