  11. Dear Friends in Chrsit, While doing a rountine check of this website I was schocked to see Anthony’s name listed. I am so saddened by your loss. I have fond memories of our interactions while I was stationed at St. Paul’s. I remember personal conversations with Anthony, visits to your home, the fact that Anthony’s father and my friends father from Charleston shared the same hospital room in Pittsburgh, the time Christopher shared his talent on the trumpet at Mass and the memorable quote from your daughter about “Aunt Stan coming to visit!” Be assured of my deepest sympathy and heartfelt prayers as I celebrate Mass. I shall pray for Anthony’s eternal rest and peace as well as God’s healing comfort to and peace to come upon you, his loved ones. Sincerely in Christ, Fr. Stanley T. Tuchalski The Catholic University of America – Canon Law Studies Washington, DC

  12. Dear Delores and family, our deepest sympathies go out to you at this terrible time. There are no words that can express the loss of a child to a parent. You will be constantly in our thoughts and especially our prayers. We know that our dear Lord will watch over you and comfort you in this time. Our faith sustains us and gives us the courage to go on. Rest in the knowledge and assurance that he rests in Jesus’ loving arms and he was welcomed with open arms by his earthly father and all those loved ones who have gone before him. We take comfort in knowing that our son, Anthony, has a friend there with him now. Together they will watch over us and wait for us to join them in that grand reunion that we know will come someday. Love to Maria, Chris and Ryan and Buddy, too. Trust in the Lord and He will give you peace. Tony and Helen Carpini

  13. I worked with Tony for 8 years at Alleheny General Hospital and I always enjoyed working with him. I will always remember when I was a new nurse to the trauma unit, he took the time to help me out when others were too busy and that meant so much. Tony always impressed me in that he could get up early in the morning spend time with his family (without sleep) and then come to work a 12 hour shift from 7p-7a and function as if he had been well rested….that always impressed me. I use to ask him “what time did you get a nap” and he would say, I’ve been since 6……WOW….I was so impressed by that…beling able to function and then to drive back to Weirton to turn around again and do it all over and still be pleasant !!! Another thing that I remember I was working with Tony and I think Rick or Frank and we got a really sick patient in the unit and everyone was trying to get lines hooked up etc. and the resident couldn’t get the artline in, so Tony said, I’ll do it and got it right in…..as a new nurse (at the time) that was impressive. These are just a few memories that have meant alot to me. I am truly sickened to hear about his tragic death.

  14. Dear Dolores and family — My thoughts and prayers are with all of you. So often we say our heart aches when something happens or someone dies – this is a time when that truly applies. First, from the grief of the loss of a wonderful man – then from the senseless violence that seems to be in our world. I remember Anthony when he was a little boy. He spent his too-short life trying to make the world a happier and better place for all of us. That’s what God asks of each of us and Anthony heard the call. My consolation is that he was welcomed home to heaven not only by a loving God but also by the loving arms of his father and many other family members and friends. Antoinette Oliver

  15. God be with the whole family, and our prayers will be with Anthony. I am a cousin of Cindy’s. So our prayers are with you. Would like to keep in touch if we can. Cousins. Dolores(olenick)Mike Sabol, daughter Megan, n Granddaughter Madison

  16. Our deepest sympathy to all of you. Tony was one of the ACLS gang at weirton Medical Center we will all miss. We will all miss that quiet soft spoken person who had so much to share with his friends and peers. We thank you for allowing us to spend happy times with him. His ACLS friends

  17. We all feel deep sorrow toward the loss of a very nice man and a great neighbor. He will be missed by all. Our deepest sympathy and prayers go out to his family.

  18. Dear Cindy, Chris, Ryan and Maria, Aunt Dolores, Linda, John, Nick and all the family memebers We are deeply sorrowed by the tragic death of Anthony. As I tell my children and for all of you to remember in your time of need… Anthony died trying to help people in need and God loves him for that. When Francine wrote about Annie’s wedding that reminded me of Anthony’s and Cindy’s wedding. Who remembers when Uncle Pete sprinted to catch Anthony as he fainted. I did not know Uncle Pete could move that fast. God Bless all of you Love Dave, Lisa Domenica & Allison Lonchar

  19. Aunt Delores, Cindy, and all of the families. There are no words that could possibly express the sadness and pain that the loss of Anthony has brought to all of you and the families. We read about and hear things of this nature happening to others but not ever to our own. And certainly not to a man like Anthony; caring, considerate, always reaching out to help others; thinking of himself last. The precious gift of life eludes us at times except when we have to face something of this magnitude. Then every day, every minute, every second becomes so very, very precious. If there is anything we can take from this terrible injustice let it be that today, this moment, is all we really have. Let us be kind and considerate to one another and generous with our love. May God be with all of you in every moment to carry you through this most difficult time. And may He be with the rest of us to guide us in His footsteps so we know how we can be of assistance to you and your family. This is foreign territory we walk today. Nothing is familiar. The world is a different place. A man we all loved has been taken from us for whatever reason some of us can’t understand. So I pray that our faith carries us through this uncertain time of not knowing and we cling to the one thing we are certain of – God is with each of us in His own way. And Anthony is right there by His side watching us now and helping us to live this life a little more loving. God bless you and your families and may He be so generous as to give us the courage, strength and wisdom to go forward and continue to love. Your Niece, Jeannette Oliver

  20. Delores, Cindy, John, Nick, Chris, Ryan and Maria and all the members of the Pirraglia Family. It is so difficult to be sending this message. I can only remember seeing Anthony when we were kids in the neighborhood, or when we visited your house. I remember talking to Anthony when he finished nursing school. He glowed with a pride and an understanding of what his new role to the world would be. He loved the challenge and proved himself a remarkable member of the medical community. He gave of himself his entire life, to all of you and he left a small piece of his soul with those he cared for. His earthly time is over, but his life will never end, it lives in all who were blessed enough to know him. The Lord gives us many challenges and he gives us the strength to endure them. Take the strength he offers and keep Him and Anthony in your heart always. Anthony you are missed. God Bless Dominic Carpini

  21. Dear Cindy, Chris, Ryan, Maria, all other family members and Buddy, Our hearts break for all of you during this time of loss. Life without Anthony will never be the same. The impression Anthony has left on each person he has touched will never leave. “A light has gone out in our community.” You are in our thoughts and prayers. With deepest sympathy, Bill, Mary, Jaclyn, and Jennie

  22. Dear Cindy, Aunt Delores and family, there are no words that can express how we feel. All we can say is that we are so sorry and we are praying for all of you. I loved Anthony so much as so many others did. I wish I could be there with you but circumstances don’t allow it at this time. Please know that we love you and share your grief and sorrow for this wonderful man who was taken from us. LOVE TO ALL. Genevieve

  23. I loved anthony like my own brother. I regret the fact I could not see him for the last time. But my prayers go out for him and his family. I’m very glad to have stayed in touch with him. Maybe God wanted him to watch over us. He will be in my heart forever.

  24. I will miss you so much, all the special things about you; your kindness, your smile, your sense of humor. We will be together again one day until then I have my memories.

  25. I can’t express the sorrow that is in my heart knowing that I’ll never see Anthony again in this lifetime, but I know it can’t compare to the loss you have to endure. I hope knowing he is at peace with God will bring all of you peace in your hearts. He touched so many lives with such a giving and loving heart, and he leaves so many wonderful memories for all of us. As my son said to me, “He was such a beautiful man” inside and out and I will miss him terribly. I wish I could have been there for all of you and to say goodbye. All my love and prayers go to all of you. Love, Doreen

  26. My thoughts and prayers are with the entire Pirraglia family. I worked with Tony at LifeFlight in Pittsburgh and he was always a great guy. Smiling face, fun to be around and a great family man. My deepest condolensces. Gary Harvat

His kindness was genuine; his purpose was one of God’s special servants to his fellow humankind. He lived his life for others and though it brought demise to his physical life he will forever live as a powerful voice and a shining star as someone who exemplified unconditional positive regard for all. There is no death, merely transition. Though Tony will not be seen he will forever be felt in the hearts and souls of his family and friends.
