Archie R. Knight, Jr., 75, of Weirton, died Thursday, March 25, 2004 at the Weirton Medical Center. Born December 5, 1928 in Costonia, OH, he is the son of the late Archie R. “Rex” and Mary Dean Knight, Sr. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, William and Edwin “Bud” Knight. Archie retired from Weirton Steel where he worked with pipe covers. He was a member of the WSX 25-Year Club, was a former football coach for the Toronto Titans and served in the Army during World War II. Archie’s survivors include his wife Norma J. Fullen Knight of Weirton whom he married August 2, 1980; his sons Larry and John of Toronto, OH, Thomas of Mingo Junction, OH, William of San Lorenzo, CA and James of Wintersville, OH; daughter Janet Petry of Steubenville, OH; eight step-children Esty DeVaughn and Patty Tayler both of Wellsburg, WV, Chris Harris of Weirton, Kenny Harris of Colliers, WV, Randy Harris of Vallonia, IN, Joe Harris of Newburgh, IN, Dale Harris of West Alexandra, PA and Barbara Sanney of Washington, PA; brothers Albert Carmany of Wintersville, OH and David Knight of Weirton; 10 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, 13 step-grandchildren and 7 step-great grandchildren. Friends will be received Sunday 1-3 and 7-9 at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton. Funeral services and burial will be held at the convenience of the family.   3. I just want to say that he was my favorite Uncle. He was there when my own Dad wasn’t. I loved his smile and the sound of his voice and I will miss him so very much. My prayers and thoughts are with my family that has to deal with his passing. They are a great bunch of people they were there when My Mother past away but one good thought is He and Mom are up in heaven having a great time…. I Love You Guys Cindy
