arlene reilly

Arlene Stephanie Reilly, age 82, of Ann Arbor, Michigan, passed away peacefully on November 2, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Weirton, West Virginia, Arlene was the daughter of Joseph and Stephanie Kostur, who instilled in her the values of faith, kindness, and perseverance that shaped her life. She went on to attend the University of Michigan, where she earned her degree in pharmacy and met her future husband, Peter Reilly. The two shared an enduring love that spanned more than six decades — a partnership grounded in devotion, laughter, and deep affection. Together they built a beautiful life in Ann Arbor, raising their three children and later delighting in the joys of grandparenthood.

Arlene was a dedicated and compassionate pharmacist who cared deeply for the people she served. She was respected by colleagues and patients alike for her warmth, integrity, and gentle approach, always taking time to listen and help others.

Above all, Arlene lived for her family. Her greatest pride and joy came from being a mother and grandmother. She poured her heart into every family gathering, holiday meal, and milestone celebration, creating memories that her loved ones will cherish forever. Her home was always filled with warmth — laughter around the table and the comforting feeling that everyone belonged.

She was an active presence in the lives of her children — Lora Beth Lynch (and her husband Dan), Kristie Wilhelm (and her husband Ken), and Brian Reilly (and his wife Heather) — and her beloved grandchildren — Anne, Michael, Sarah, and Meghan Lynch; Luke and Kate Wilhelm; and Joseph, Grace, and Jackson Reilly. She never missed a game, concert, or special occasion, cheering each of them on with pride and joy.

Arlene shared a lifelong bond with her sister, Christine (and her husband Ramon), whose friendship, love, and laughter were a constant source of strength and joy. She was also blessed with a close family of cousins, nieces and nephews, as well as dear friends who became like family — relationships built on kindness, shared memories, and an abundance of love.

A Funeral Mass celebrating Arlene’s life will take place on Thursday, November 6, at 12:30 p.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church.

Arlene’s family takes comfort in knowing that her legacy of love, devotion, and joy will continue through the many lives she touched. She will be remembered for her radiant smile, her boundless care for others, and the way she made every person feel special and loved.

Her life was truly a celebration — one that will continue to inspire those who knew her for years to come.
