Beverly “Joan” DeFelice, devoted wife, loving mother, and proud grandmother, passed away peacefully on February 15, 2026, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, surrounded by her children.
Born on April 26, 1938, in Weirton, West Virginia, to John and Ruth Kuhar, Joan lived a life centered on family, friendship, and caring for others. She graduated from Weir High School in 1956 and later worked as an office manager for an oil well company in Houston, Texas.
Joan’s greatest joy was her family. She treasured time spent with her children and grandchildren and had a special way of making every moment feel warm and meaningful. She also had a passion for fashion and was well known for her signature red fingernails.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joseph, who passed on May 23, 2018; her parents, John and Ruth; and her brother, John Kuhar.
Left to cherish her memory are her son, John DeFelice of Fort Lauderdale, Florida; her daughters, JoLynn Ryckman of Centennial, Colorado, and Julie (Stephen) Doty of Norfolk, Virginia; and her grandchildren, Alex and Josh Ryckman, and Laura Jacques.
Friends are invited to visit Joan’s family on Saturday, February 21, at Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, from 10 am to the time of her 11 am Liturgy of the Word Service.
Fr. Bill Matheny will preside.
Entombment will follow in St. Paul’s Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest beside her husband, Joseph.

So many life lessons!!! Can’t say enough!!
Loved her spirit!’!!!
I’ve lost my first playmate. 1943 has passed but some of her actions are still memorable. She taught me how to tie my band uniform tie. Best of all, she prepared dinner while I was in the Coast Guard in the Philadelphia area.
