Bryan Phillip Westlake, 36, of Weirton, WV, passed away Friday, August 9, 2013. Born May 12, 1977 in Steubenville, OH, Bryan was a son of George Clayton Westlake of Mingo Junction, OH and Paula Adele Wells of Weirton, WV. Bryan was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Harold and Lois Westlake. Bryan was currently employed at Apollo Pro Cleaning and Restoration in Wintersville, OH and was Russian Orthodox by faith. He enjoyed working on his car and attending car races and car shows with his brother, Justin. In addition to his parents, Bryan is survived by his daughter, Melanie Westlake of Weirton; brother, Justin Westlake and his wife Becky and their son Jason, who always called Bryan "Uncle B," of Port Charlotte, FL; sister, Megan Westlake of Weirton; maternal grandmother, Sophie Kansa; step-father, Gary Wells, Sr. of Weirton; step-brother, Gary Wells, Jr. and his wife Megan of Canonsburg, PA; step-sister, Jessica Wells of Lakeland, FL; his faithful canine companion, Simba; many aunts and cousins, and a host of friends who will sadly miss him. Friends will be received on Tuesday from 2-4 & 6-8PM and again Wednesday from 6-8PM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, where funeral services will be held Thursday at 11AM. The Very Reverend John S. Kopcha will officiate. Graveside services will follow at the St. Nicholas Orthodox Cemetery, Weirton. Contributions in memory of Bryan should be made to the Hancock County Animal Shelter Foundation, 715 Gas Valley Road, New Cumberland, WV 26047 or visit www.hcasf.org

  11. George,Paula and Gary,Mel,and Siblings, I am so sorry to hear this u all are in my thoughts and prayers. I am sorry and there is never no words to say to help or make it better. I can say this oh I know what and how Mel. feels its tuff when its your parent. I am hear if she ever needs someone to talk to or cry to or whatever please tell her and remember that for her. Losing a father Melanie at such a young age ( you and your dad ) is a very difficult thing to bear. Paula, to lose a son is probably the most difficult thing a mother can endure.     Paula, I have to apologize to you personally for not being able to get to you during Tuesdays showing but my wheelchair was very cumbersome and I was disrupting the flow of visitation!!! I had to leave without even saying hello!!! Please know that you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers!!!! I sincerely apologize for not being able to give my condolences personally!!!!

I had only known Bryan from work, but for the short time i was fortunate to work with him he had become a dear friend, which of course he became friends easily with everyone he came in contact with. It’ll never be the same here with out him. I’m so sorry for your loss, he will be missed greatly by everyone here at Apollo.
