Carol Ann Zagula, 73, of Weirton, passed away Monday, October 7, 2019. Born on May 16, 1946, she was the daughter of the late Sigmund and Frances (Wojdyla) Zagula. She was a member of Sacred Heart of Mary Church in Weirton and a graduate of Madonna High School, Class of 1964. Carol worked as an x-ray technician and as an office manager for several medical practices in Weirton until she retired in 2010. In her retirement, Carol traveled extensively and most fondly remembers her trip to Alaska and her visits to Portland and Chicago to visit family. Carol is survived by her two children Thomas V. Lafferty, Jr. (Tracy) of Aurora, IL and Laura (Bill) Cantrell of Camas, WA, two grandchildren Alex and Natalie Lafferty, her sister Leona (Clinton) Hetrick, her nephew Brian (Amy) Hetrick, and her niece Kathy (Paul) Hetrick. Friends will be received on Saturday, October 12, 2019 from 2 pm until the time of the funeral service at 4pm, at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main St., Weirton. Reverend Father Anthony G. Thurston will officiate. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Kim Hvizdak and Judy Freeland for all the help and care they provided to Carol. I was so blessed to see her a few months ago and spend some time talking with her. I will miss her sharp wit and no nonsense attitude. My prayers to her family for comfort and peace.
