carolyn herron
On Saturday, March 25, 2017, Carolyn Lucille Herron (nee Castelli), beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt, and daughter, passed away suddenly at the age of 73 years in her Gallup, N.M. home. Carolyn was a long-time Weirton resident, passionate Steelers fan, and committed community member with an endless well of energy, joy, and laughter that she shared widely and openly without reservation. Born July 15, 1943 in Steubenville, O.H. to the late Romano and Emily Filesi Castelli, Carolyn graduated from Weirton Madonna High School in 1961 before attending Potomac State. She returned to Weirton to join the family business, Weir Cove Moving and Storage, where she served as Secretary Treasurer until her retirement in 2002. Carolyn's curiosity drew her to the New Mexican desert in 2007 where she continued be a force of kindness and warmth until her passing. As the Native American proverb says, "We will be known forever by the tracks we leave." The tracks left on the hearts of all those who knew Carolyn were immeasurable and profound. Carolyn's incredible spirit and generosity will be eternally remembered by her children, Susan (Denny) Adkinson, Michael (Lisa) Herron, and Matthew (Lilly) Herron; her four grandchildren, Samantha and Vince Pizzoferrato, and Kennedy and Riley Herron; and her brothers Romie (Kathy) Castelli and John (Penny) Castelli. Carolyn will be forever loved by her numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends. She is preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Thomas Herron, of New Cumberland, W.V. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, April 8, 2017, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Greco Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton. Memorial donations in memory of Carolyn may be made to the Alzheimer's Association and the American Cancer Society. Funeral Home: Greco Hertnick Funeral Home 3219 Main Street Weirton, WV US 26062

  8. When Carolyn Costelli married my brother, Tom Herron, she brought with her good food, a love of life, the closeness of family and Romi’s homemade red wine.
