charlene spencer
Charlene Sue Spencer, a loving wife, mother, and sister, passed away on Saturday, November 20, 2021, after a brief battle with COVID-19. She was 72. Charlene was born in Steubenville, OH, on March 27, 1949, one of five children born to Willard and Betty Kile Ball. On June 1, 1968, she married Eric Dean Spencer, Sr. In their fifty-three years of marriage, Eric and Charlene were blessed with a daughter and two sons. Sadly, their daughter Lisa Ann passed away at the age of 25 from a metastatic glioblastoma. Charlene was a homemaker who also, for a time, sold Avon products and was a distributor of Artex. She loved to go camping, especially on the farm on Woodburn Run near Alma, WV. She enjoyed painting, gardening, and singing in church services with her husband and sister Patty. Her favorite song was I’ll Fly Away. She was a member of the Colliers First Church of God, where she loved to sing. She was the children’s choir director at three different churches. Most of all, Charlene will be remembered for her generosity and compassion towards others. Her family was her world, and she was the mother to 3 children but was known as mom to many. All who knew Charlene knew that her favorite bible verse was I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me. She will be remembered with love by her husband, Rev Eric Dean Spencer, Sr., her two sons, Eric Dean Spencer, Jr., and Scott Allen Spencer (Tanya); her brothers, Robert Ball (Sherry) and William Ball (Gale); and her sisters, Tammy Smith (Patrick) and Patty Montgomery (John). Her visitation will be Monday from 4 PM until 6 PM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street Weirton, WV, where funeral services will be held at 6:00 PM. Rev. Philip Scott, A.R.C. will preside. Interment will take place at 11:00 AM Wednesday at the Victory Cemetery in Alma, WV. Memorial contributions may be made to the Colliers First Church of God RR 2 Box 402 Colliers, WV 26035 Share tributes and memories at www.grecohertnick.com 304 748-3219
