  25. To Ed & Elenor, Brat & Pat, Terry & Vicky, and the entire Gilles Family, I am so saddened to her of Cheries’ passing. My memories of the times we spent together as family, have always held a special place in my heart and will always continue, although with a touch of sorrow. Although we had not spoken to each other for some time, Cherie and I were extremely close at times and often would be there for each other, if only in spirit, without casting judgement or criticism on each other’s actions, accepting each other for who we were, not who or what someone wanted us to be. Cherie’s strong spirit and love for all good things in life will always be remembered. I recently read that death is the last battle to be won, not lost and tonight, Cherie, we raise our glasses in honor of your memory, spirit, and soul.

  34. Weep not for me now that I have passed. Remember the laughter, the affection, the joy not just the recent tears. Cherish the memories, our hopes and dreams. Hold fast to the love that we shared. Be happy with the time we spent together and being anew. For I am not really gone, I am closer than ever before. As the morning sun rises and throughout the busy day…I am with you. Until the setting sun disappears on the horizon and we watch the day turn into night…I am here. You may feel a faint breeze stir round your head, while you slumber as I gently kiss your forehead, “Good night.” The stars that shine so brightly in my heavenly sky help me watch over you and keep you from harm. I am the wind in the trees and the song of a bird. I am moonbeams in a midnight sky and a glorious rainbow after the storm. I am morning dew and freshly-fallen snow. I am a butterfly flying overhead and a puppy happily at play. I am a smile on a stranger’s face a gentle touch a warm embrace. Listen to the wind for my message of love. Watch the sun rise and set in the sky with me. Feel my essence encircle you with warm memories. Open your heart to know…I am not gone. Reach deep into your soul…You will find me. I am here. Have no fear. I am with you, Always. Our hearts go out to all of Cheri’s family & friends. We have known Cheri for a few years now and will always consider her a friend. 40. To the Gilles’ Cheri was a true friend and a wonderful person. All of our lives will be a little drearier without her presence. This poem gave me some comfort when my mother died. I hope it does the same for you. The Ship I am standing on the seashore. A ship at my side spreads her white sails to the morning breeze and starts for the blue ocean. She is an object of beauty and strength, and I stand and watch her until at length she is only a ribbon of white cloud just where the sea and sky come to meet. Then someone at my side says, “There, she’s gone!” Gone? Gone where? Gone from my sight, that is all. She is just as large in mast and hull and spar as she was when she left my side and just as able to bear her load of living freight to the place of destination. Her diminished size is in me – not in her. And just at the moment when someone at my side says, “There she’s gone!,” there are other voices ready to take up the shout, “There, she comes!” And that is dying.

  41. Mr. and Mrs. Gilles and Family, I am so sorry to hear of your loss. Cheri was a great pal to have growing up, she was funny and outgoing, always happy to make new friends. My family and I extend our condolences and our prayers to you in this difficult time.

  42. To the Gilles family,If there is anything you need please ask. Cheri was the most giving, loving and caring person that I have ever met. She has a special place in my heart forever and I am so lucky to have had a great friend like Cheri. Love to your whole family.

  43. To The Gilles Family, Tommy and I loved Cheri very much, she was at our house for the week-end, and of course as always we had a great time. We were playing steeler monopoly and at one point Cheri looked at me and laughed and said Andrea you don’t even know that you passed the Cheri test and didn’t even take it! We laughed and I told her how nervous i was to meet Tommy’s friends because he spoke so highly of them especially Cheri, she laughed and say YAH you’re in! Tommy especially remembers the night he danced with Mamma at the O and how proud Cheri was. We will miss her every day, her text messages, her love of family and friends, her kindness and mostly her LOVE.

  44. Jean and Ed, I wish I had the words. Cheri was as near and dear a friend as anyone could have. I am speechless… numb… and so very sorry for you both. I will always remember her.

The void that you have left in our lives can never be filled, we would do anything to have you back.
