Christine Marie Pyles

Christine Marie Pyles, 68, of Weirton, WV, passed away on Tuesday, January 27, 2026. She was born in Weirton on June 3, 1957, one of five daughters born to the late Stephen and Irene Pagur Martaus.

Christine was a graduate of Weir High School and spent many years working in the accounting departments at Weirton K-Mart and Wal-Mart before later working for CHANGE, Inc. She was dependable, detail-oriented, and took pride in her work throughout her career.

A true homebody at heart, Christine found joy in the simple comforts of home. She loved reading books, watching her favorite soap operas, westerns, Little House on the Prairie, and just about anything on MeTV. In earlier years, she also enjoyed visiting craft shows at Great Trails in Minerva Ohio.

In addition to her parents, Christine was preceded in death by her sister, Stephanie Peterson; her brothers-in-law, Thomas J. Maher, Sr. and Bernard Asklar; and her nephew, Thomas J. Maher, Jr.

She will be lovingly remembered by her three children, Zachary Lee Pyles, Jenna (Jarett) Bain, and Rebecca (James) Lackey; her sisters, Katherine “ Kathy” Maher, Patty Asklar, and Barbara (Dr. Houchang) Modanlou; and her grandchildren, Arianna Highsmith, Joey Bain, and Alison Lackey.

Friends and family will be received for visitation on Thursday from 4:00–6:00 PM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, Weirton.
