Daniel Joseph Karpinski, 56, of Weirton, died Saturday, June 19, 2010, at his home in Weirton. Born January 14, 1954, in Weirton, WV, Daniel was the son of the late Alexander and Frances Klakos Karpinski. Daniel retired from the former Weirton Steel Corporation after 30 years of service as a rigger and in the sheet mill. Daniel is survived by his namesake daughter, Dani Jo Kazienko and her husband Brian, beloved granddaughter Katarina and step grandson Nate, of Cranberry Township, PA; sister Lori Jenkins and her husband Earle, nephew Chad and niece Ashley, of Miami, FL; brother Todd Karpinski and his wife Debbie, nephew Michael, niece Brittanie and great-niece Amyiah, of New Jersey; uncles, aunts, great-aunts and many cousins. Per his request, so that others may benefit from his life and his death, Daniel's body was donated to the West Virginia University Human Gift Registry for medical research. A memorial service will be held at 10:30AM Saturday, July 3, 2010 at Sacred Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 200 Preston Avenue, Weirton, WV. Immediately following the service, friends and relatives are invited to join his family at a luncheon in the Sacred Heart of Mary Church Hall. Memorial contributions may be made to Weirton Madonna High School, Office of Development c/o Mr. Joseph Edmiston, 150 Michael Way, Weirton, WV 26062.

  4. I was so very sad to see Danny’s picture in the paper and know that it’s the last time I will see him. The Madonna Class of 1971 won’t forget him.
