david satkowski

David Harold Satkowski, 72, passed away on February 10, 2026, at Saint Elizabeth Hospital Emergency Room in Youngstown, Ohio.

Born on July 5, 1953, in Steubenville, Ohio, David was the middle child of five children born to the late Matthew and Elizabeth Borza Satkowski. He was raised in Weirton, and was a graduate of Weir High School.

Following graduation, David began working at Weirton Steel, as many young men in the area did at the time. He later answered the call to serve his country in the United States Navy, spending time stationed in the Philippine Islands. After his military service, David found his true calling on the open road, spending most of his career driving an 18-wheeler. He genuinely enjoyed life as a truck driver and took pride in his work.

In his free time, David found peace and relaxation in fishing. In recent years, due to health complications, he was no longer working and made his home with his brother, Dan.

David is survived by his two brothers, Dan Satkowski-Nielsen and Matthew Satkowski; and his sisters, Debbie Sayre and Nancy Nash.

Dave will be cremated at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home’s onsite crematory without any public services.
