dennis rock
Dennis W. Rock, 67, of Weirton, passed away Saturday, September 19, 2020, at Weirton Medical Center. He was born February 18, 1953, in Steubenville, OH, the son of the late William and Helen Gill Rock. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Patsy, who died on April 30, 1951, Weirton bus crash. Dennis had a deep love for his country. He retired from the United States Air Force Reserve Unit and served a tour in the Middle East. He was a proud member of American Legion Post 10, appreciated the outdoors, traveling, cooking, and meeting new people at the local watering holes. In his pastime, he enjoyed working on vehicles with friends and family. Finally, he had a great love for westerns, slapstick comedy, and The Weather Channel. Rocky, as he was best known, is survived by his daughters Samantha Rock-Story and Amanda (Adam) Rock, both of Austin, TX; twin sisters Connie (Bob) Williams and Cathy (Erik) Maki, all of Belt, Montana and Nancy (Ed) Ames of Orlando, FL; his daughters' mother, Joyce Rock, of Weirton; his cousins and neighbors Anthony, Steve and Mike Gill; who could always be found working on the property they shared; his best friend, Paul Rafacz and, last but not least, his dachshund, Buddy. Though he fell a bit short of his wanton "99 and 3 days", he lived a full life and will be missed. There will be no visitation. The family's request for cremation has been honored. Arrangements were provided by Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, WV. Share tributes and memories at www.grecohertnick.com
