Donald Lee Scott, 67, of Weirton, died Tuesday November 7, 2000 at Weirton Medical Center, after a lengthy illness. Born in New Martinsville, WV on May 19, 1933, Donald was the youngest son of the late Richard Ellsworth and Anna Lee Wayt Scott. He was also proceeded in death by five brothers; Paul, Clifford, Robert, William and Charles Scott and one sister, Fern Scott Jones. Donald retired from Weirton Steel Power House as a millwright with 42 years of service. He was a member of Weirton Heights Memorial Baptist Church where he served as a Decon, Board of Trustees, Senior Choir Member. Donald was also a Sunday School teacher, Past President and was an active member of the Pairs and Spares Sunday School Class. He served in the Airforce for 4 years in the Korean War. Donald was a charter member of Weirton Police Reserves, and served as chief for 10 years. He was a member of Weirton Commandry of Knights Templer, and the Masonic Lodge of New Cumberland # 171 and BPOE # 1801. He also was a member of Weirton Steel 25 year club. Surviving are his wife, Josephine A.(Beagle) Scott, whom he married July 14, 1952 at Sampsons Air Force Base; two sons; Lieutenant D. Lance Scott and wife Carolyn, and Paul Clayton Scott both of Weirton; three daughters: Rose-Ann Larimer, Alesa Marie Scott both of Weirton and Lauralee and her husband Bill Webster of Woodbridge, VA. Grandchildren: Tara, Tracy, Shawn, Ryan, Brandon, Matthew and Brittany; as well as two sisters: Mrs. Clayton (Maudelee) Heaton of Weirton, and Mrs. Darrell (Ella Rose) Talbott of Belington, WV. Calling hours are Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. at Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, WV and 10:00 A.M. until time of services at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday at Weirton Heights Memorial Baptist Church. Interment at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens with military graveside services conducted by the VFW, American Legion, and Tri State Marine Corp.
