Dorothy Mae Sejda, 87, of Weirton, passed away Tuesday, May 15, 2012 in the Valley Hospice Care Center North in Steubenville, OH. Born August 31, 1924, she was a daughter of the late Bert and Emma Gastgeb Flowers. She was also preceded in death by her husband Joseph C. Sejda in 1989, brothers Joseph "Elmer" Flowers and John Flowers and sisters Susan Brecht and Clarice Macklin. Mrs. Sejda was a homemaker, a member of Weirton Heights Memorial Baptist Church, AARP, Three Score Seniors and Elks Lodge 1801. Dorothy is survived by her son Joseph Sejda and his wife Jackie of Florida; daughters JoAnn Johns and her husband Dr. William Johns of Mingo Junction, OH and Arlene Peters and her husband Robert, Jr. of Weirton; five grandchildren Michael Peters, Rob Peters, Sheri Pontell, Keith Sejda and Brett Johns and 8 great-grandchildren.. Friends will be received 1-4 and 6-8PM Thursday at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, WV 26062 where funeral services will be held 11AM Friday. The Reverend William C. Stout will preside. Interment will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Weirton.
