edith cottrill
Edith Clara Cottrill, 92, of Weirton, passed away Thursday, February 22, 2007 at the Weirton Geriatric Center. Born July 6, 1914 in Star City, WV, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Queentilla Whipkey White. Edith was also preceded in death by her husband Glen Cottrill on December 28, 1995; son Edward Cottrill; grandson Michael Cottrill; brothers Oscar Joseph, Frank, Denver and Dorsey White and sisters Mary Whipkey and Opal Cooper. Edith was a homemaker and a member of Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church. Edith’s survivors include her sons Glen (Bob) Cottrill and his wife Gwen and Richard Cottrill and his wife Mihwa of Weirton; daughter Elinor Stanley and her husband Curtis of New Manchester, WV; 11 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren. The family will receive friends Sunday 1-3 and 6-8PM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, where funeral services will be conducted at 10:30AM Monday with Reverend Patty Bucey Beagle presiding. Interment will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to the Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church, 101 Lisa Court, Weirton, WV 26062.
