Edward Francis O’Rourke from Weirton, West Virginia died peacefully at home on Friday, January 12, 2018. He was born November 8, 1935 at home, a son of the late Maurice Edward O’Rourke and Helen (Reed) O’Rourke. He was also preceded in death by his two sisters Eileen O’Rourke and Kathleen Lydick and brother Robert O’Rourke. Edward retired from Weirton Steel Corporation after 40 years where he worked in the Tin Mill as an accounting supervisor. He was a veteran of the United States Army and served in Germany. He was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, a long standing member of the Knights of Columbus, Weirton Steel 25 Year Club and Management Club. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He loved his grandchildren with all his heart and was very proud of them and all their accomplishments. He was the biggest Notre Dame and Steelers fan around. He loved his family and his country western movies. He was a big dog lover and the hardest worker around. Ed is survived by his beloved wife Marianne Iaquinta O’Rourke, whom he married on February 23, 1963; son Edward Francis O’Rourke Jr., of Wheeling; daughter Patricia Ann Littleton of Weirton; two grandchildren Joey (Alexis) Littleton of Pittsburgh and Jenna Littleton of Weirton and sister Maureen (Gary) Frey of Weirton. Friends will be received on Monday from 1:00 until the time of services at 5 PM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main St., Weirton. Rev. Father Larry Dorsch will officiate.
