Born in:
Weirton, WV
Resided in:
Weirton, WV
Edward Kobylarz, 96 our beloved father passed away peacefully after a short illness.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dolores (Preat), his parents, John and Julia (Kwasnik)Kobylarz, his sons, Timothy and Michael, and his sisters. He is survived by his son, Daniel Kobylarz, and daughters Lisa McCune (Tim) and Connie Falter (Tom).
His faith in God carried him through life’s hardships, shaping him into a humble man of quiet strength and love. He lived with integrity, never forgetting where he came from, and always standing by what was right.. He had a kind and generous heart for those less fortunate. His greatest love was his Family.
After graduating from Weir High School, where he played basketball during the 1947 season, he served in the Army in the artillery during the Korean War. He worked for 38 years in the 54-inch hot mill of Weirton Steel.
Edward found peace in simple joys— walking each morning, sitting on his front porch enjoying the summer breeze; listening to the music of Kris Kristofferson, Neil Diamond, Bob Seger, and The Beatles; and watching cowboy movies and the Dallas Cowboys.
His greatest joy was being with family. He and his son Daniel were close companions . He traveled with his daughter Lisa to Poland to explore his parents’ Polish homeland and his daughter, Connie always kept him updated on the latest news concerning friends from the neighborhood.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Kris Taflan, director of skilled nursing at WMC, Val, who cared for our father with unwavering kindness and compassion, she is truly an angel in disguise and the entire staff of the skilled nursing unit for their compassionate care and dedication. They would also like to express their gratitude to Dr. Kelly Chaney for all her kindness, support, and friendship during this difficult time.
Per Edward’s request there will be a private service.
