Elizabeth Jane Eyestone

Elizabeth Jane Eyestone, 86, of Weirton, passed away Wednesday, October 29, 2014 in the Brightwood Center, Follansbee, WV. Born September 30, 1928 in Oil City, PA, she was the daughter of the late James E. and Elizabeth Norine Brown McFadden. She was also preceded in death by her husband Jim Eyestone on March 10, 1994 and Brother James "Ed" McFadden in 1996. A graduate of Oil City High School and St. Vincent College of Nursing, Jane worked as a registered nurse in Ohio and California. In 1992, she retired from California State University in Long Beach, CA. She was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church, the Legion of Mary, Weirton Woman's Club and the Literary Department of the Woman's Club. She was a former member of the California State Employees Association. Jane is survived by her nephews James P. McFadden of Addison, IL, Timothy E. McFadden and his wife Mary Ellen of Weirton; niece Kimberly J. Plant and her husband Peter of Middletown, MD and great nieces and nephews James; Elizabeth McFadden and Julia Plant and her very dear friend Linda Stankiewicz. In keeping with Mrs. Eyestone's wishes, friends will be received from 12 until the 1pm Memorial Mass on Tuesday, November 4, 2014 at St. Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church. The Reverend Father Anthony G. Thurston will officiate. Her cremated remains will be buried next to her husband, Jim, in the All Souls Cemetery, Long Beach, CA.
