
Emery Stephen Mikula

Emery S. Mikula, 91, of Weirton, WV passed away on December 4, 2018, at the Acuity Specialty Hospital in Weirton.
A son of the late James and Mary Kallay Mikula, Emery was born on April 18, 1927, in Dillonvale, OH. His granddaughter, Brittany Kusic, and his brother, Joseph J. Mikula also preceded him in death.
Stationed in Guam, Emery proudly served his nation with the United States Navy. After reurning to Weirton he carried mail in the Colliers Way area for the US Postal Service for 44 years.
Emery volunteered many years coaching baseball with the Weirton Termites. He sang in the Saint Paul’s and Saint Joseph’s choir for a combined 40 years. He was a member of the American Legion Post 10 and VFW 2716. He enjoyed following WVU and Pittsburgh’s sports teams, and especially enjoyed following his grandchildren’s sporting events.
He will be remembered with love by his beloved wife of 63 years, Joanne (Harris) Mikula; his three sons, Brent and Allison Mikula of Columbia SC, David and Erica Mikula of Weirton, WV and Michael and Missy Mikula of New Cumberland, WV; his two daughters, Debbie and John Kafton and Kathy and Alec Nagy all of Weirton, WV; his grandchildren, Jason (Alicia) Kusic, Andy Mikula, Shaun (Melissa) Nagy, Matthew (Michelle) Nagy, Rachael (Anthony) Bergheger, Christian, Evan, Levi, Tanner, Sophia and Addison Mikula; his six greatgrandchildren; and his dog, Molly.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 AM Friday, at Saint Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church.
Rev. Fr. Dennis J. Schuelkens, Jr. will preside.

Sorry to hear of Emery’s passing. He used to walk on our street with his bulldog every day, and we’d have long conversations. He was such a nice man.May he rest in peace. Helen Phillips
