Frank Michael Scarfo

Frank Michael Scarfo, 85, of Weirton passed away on Sunday February 7, 2016, at his home. Born on September 5, 1930, in Weirton, WV, Frank was a son of the late Nick and Margaret Principato Scarfo. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Joseph Scarfo and his two sisters, Jeanette Mull and Mary Coen. Frank was a heavy equipment operator with Starvaggi Enterprises and later on in his career with Ohio Coal, where he eventually retired . One of his favorite pastimes was dancing with his wife, Marie. Around the house, he enjoyed planting and tending to his garden, and fixing small engines, and tractors. He was a member of Saint Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus 3734, and the Four Seasons Seniors. He is survived by his wife, Marie Conchel Scarfo; a son, Frank Scarfo, Jr. of Stroudsburg, PA; a daughter, Pamela Fair and her husband, Howard of Weirton, WV; two brothers, Nick Scarfo of Hickory, PA and Roy Scarfo of Weirton, WV; a sister, Carmela Fehl of McDonald, PA; and two grandchildren, Lindsey and Sean Fair. Visitation will be Tuesday 2-4 & 6-8 PM, at Greco Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street Weirton, WV. Knights of Columbus Rosary will be recited Tuesday evening at 6 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:30 AM Wednesday, at Saint Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church. Rev. Father Manuel Gelido will preside. Interment will follow at Saint Paul Cemetery.
