To my wonderful Rusty. You always were and always will be the love of my life. You will be so missed by everyone who knew and loved you, especially your T.T. and PeeWee. You will forever remain in my heart and soul always. Glenn Russell "Rusty" Kidd, 65, of Weirton, passed away Thursday, June 11, 2015 at his home. He was born July 24, 1949 in Clarksburg, WV, a son of the late Ernest John and Althea Myrtle Kidd. He was also preceded in death by his brother Ernie Kidd and two nephews James and Luke Shields. Rusty retired as a heavy equipment operator. He was a member of the Teamsters Local 92 of Canton, OH, enjoyed tending to his yard and flowers and taking long walks. Rusty was notorious for his joke-telling and fishing at Piedmont Lake. He is survived by his wife Donna Opet Kidd; son Leon (Jen) Kidd of Weirton; daughter Melissa Kidd-Hawkins of Weirton; sister Jeanette Shields of Weirton; brothers-in-law Steve (Ilene) Opet of Fayetteville, NC and Charles (Heather) Opet of Meadville, PA; nieces Emma and Charlee Opet and Nancy Pearson; mother in law, Helen E. Opet, nephews Howard and Charlie Shields; step-grandchildren Kayla and Zachary Hawkins; many great nieces and nephews; his best fishing buddy, Lee and the gang at Piedmont Lake; his cat PeeWee and dog Casper. Visitation will be held Saturday from 1pm until the 4pm funeral service at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton. The Reverend Marvin Taylor will officiate.
