Gynith Mossor

Gynith Mossor, 92, of Weirton, passed away Wednesday, September 26, 2007 at her home. Born July 27, 1915 in Tyler County, WV, she was the daughter of the late Singler and Susan Emily Cross. Gynith was also preceded in death by her husband Archie Mossor who died in 1995, brothers Roseman, Alvie, Layman and George Cross and sisters Fanny Jane Meek, Izona Dailey, Lucrettia Windland, Goldie Mossor and Monford Lock.
Gynith worked for 43 years as a beautician. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Weirton and the Greater Weirton Senior Citizens Center where she enjoyed quilting. She was an avid baker and loved to garden.
Gynith is survived by her son Jim Mossor and his wife Molly of Weirton; daughter Donna Donahue of Colorado Springs, CO; grandsons Kevin and Christopher Gobell and great granddaughters Crystal and Amber Gobell.
There will be no visitation. Friends and family will gather for Gynith’s funeral services and interment at 9AM Friday, September 28 in the mausoleum chapel at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Reverend Chuck Jerman will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church, 3301 West Street, Weirton, WV 26062.

Dear Jim and Molly I’m sorry for your loss and that I will be unable to attend the services tomorrow, but you will be in my thoughts and prayers.
About 25 years ago, I met the sweetest lady, that lived across the street from my husband. He’d known her all his life. Kind, loving, always a smile are words that describe her. I didn’t know her well, but I never saw her frown, and never heard a negative thing from her. She gave me some things to open my own beauty shop, some of herself. An honor to be in this woman’s life. Her memory will always bring a smile to my face and warmth to my heart.
Jim & Molly: So sorry for the loss of your mother. She was a very special lady. I will have to mention that she was a wonderful cook. It didn’t seem to matter if there wasn’t much to cook, she could always whip up a good meal. Special memories of your mother will always comfort us. Again, so sorry for the loss of this special lady.
Jim and Molly:My thoughts and prayers are with both of you in the passing of Gynith. She was a wonderful lady. I will treasure the quilt and pillow she made me in red and black. She knew that was my colors. God rest her soul. She is at peace now.
I am sorry for your loss. My mother,Florence, was a customer of your mother’s. We lived at 425 Cove Road.My sister, Shirley, and I have fond memories of your family. Your mother was so kind to us when our mother passed away in 1956.
Donna, We just returned home from vacation & I read the news of your mother’s passing. What great memories I have of her & how loving & friendly she always was to me when I was @ your home. I would see her every fall @ our Church’s Harvest Dinner & couldn’t believe that she remembered me. She was a very special lady & one that I will not forget. You are in my thoughts & prayers.
