Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. To everyone in the Morris family, There are so many thoughts that come to mind when I think about one of my favorite aunts. I would like to share a few of them with you all so you can know how very special she was in my life… Aunt Sissie was always happy. I rarely, if ever, saw her without a smile on her face and a hearty laugh, the kind that came from her heart naturally. A beautiful woman who carried herself well. She was so elegant and classy. A truly genuine socialite from a small town called Weirton. Some of my very best childhood memories came from spending time with her and her family. Christmas eve was by far the most memorable event in the calendar year. Aunt Sissie and Uncle Nicky’s house was the best place to be no matter what your age. They were always the most gracious of hosts and a good time was had by all no matter what the occasion. She was always so supportive and complimentary no matter who you were or what your interests. She raised a great family too. Jay, Patty and Bill – each one caring in their own special way, obviously a learned trait from their parents. I always think of her and Uncle Nicky when I hear Glenn Miller’s song Swingtime. They would clear the dance floor with an audience every time. What an elegant couple, with so much style and love for each other. She was a potentate’s wife, a super mom, a fun grandmother and a really cool aunt! I remember she never used to yell at her kids either, (at least if she did, I never heard it). As you know, I can go on and on about how she made me feel, so many memories, 40 years worth, and I will miss her greatly. She was a gem of a lady and heaven will love having her happy smile and hearty laugh. My family and I are so sorry for your loss. If you ever need me, I’m here for you. I love you all, Kathy Volosin Maragos

  2. I will miss her alot. She was always so upbeat and positive. I enjoyed playing cards with her and when she joined our family club she became part of our family. My sincere sympathies to all who knew and loved her.

  3. To the Morris family, My deepest sympathy to your families. I am greatly saddened by this news, your mom will be missed by many. Sissy brought smiles and happiness to all she knew. I will keep you all in my prayers during this time. God Bless, Melanie

  4. It is unbelievable that my best chilhood friend has left us. Sissie and I were inseparable all through our school days…we were often mistaken for each other. She was matron of honor at my wedding and I was her bridesmaid. Plus I was the soloist when she and Nick married. The world is a sadder place without her charm and lovely ways. I will miss our frequent phone conversations. Please accept my sincerest sympathy.

  5. Your mother will be missed. We had a lot of fond memories of your mother and dad from our Shrine days.

  6. I was deeply saddened to learn of the passing of “Sissy” Morris. I first met her shortly after moving to Weirton and was taken with warmth, her pleasantness and her terrific smile. She always had time for a nice conversation and a good scratch for my dog, Flynn. We shall miss our frequent encounters with one the finest ladies I have ever known. May God let his countenance shine upon her forever.

  7. I WAS VERY SAD TO HEAR ABOUT SISSIE. SHE WAS A GOOD FRIEND WE WERE FRIENDS AS TEENS AND BELONGED TO A CARD CLUB AFTER WE WERE MARRIED. ALWAYS A VERY HAPPY PERSON. A BIG SMILE FOR EVERYONE I KNOW SHE WILL BE MISSED BY ALL THE PEOPLE WHO LOVED HER.

  8. Sissy will be missed by her many friends. She was such a “Lady”. All who knew her loved her. Ernie and Mary Freeland

  9. To Sissie’s Family, I wanted to express my deepest sympathy to you all for the loss of your beautiful mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, friend. When I think of Sissie, the first things that come to mind…that gorgeous smile , shining blonde hair, sparkling eyes, and a genuine warmth she naturally radiated. She left behind a legacy of happy memories , and a deep and abiding love for you all. She was truly a lovely and loving person, truly unforgettable. You are all in my thoughts.

  10. Bill,Rosemary,Patty and Jay, you have my deepest sympathy on the loss of your mother. May the Lord be with you all in your time of your loss. Nick Kundrat

  11. To Sissie’s family: My deepest sympathy to you all. You were blessed to have such a wonderful lady to be your Matriarch. Sissie and I were friends in high school in the band and as majorettes together but first knew each other in SS at the Cove Presbyterian church when we were just little ones. I will keep many good memories in my heart reflecting in her gentleness, caring attitude and happy countenance. From one of the “old gang,” Glad Hemphill

  12. To My Cousins & Their Families, Please know that you are all in our hearts and prayers. We feel so fortunate that we were able to visit with her when we were home in May. She looked wonderful and, as always, had that great smile that never seemed to go away. Sissy loved life and she loved her family and friends. She was such a good friend to my mother. I know Mom will miss her dearly. She was a beautiful woman, inside & out, and we’re lucky to have had her as a part of our lives. God bless you all . . . Love, Steve & Linda Richards
