  8. Mitch, Stanley, Mary, Stephanie, and families: I was deeply saddened today to hear of Henry’s passing. Please accept my condolences. Mitch, I haven’t been back to Weirton in many years, but I remember, both frequently and fondly, the kindnesses you and Henry showed toward me and my family while growing up. I remember working the soda fountain at the Marland Heights Pharmacy, and driving that old Chevy coupe with the vacuum clutch that wasn’t worth a damn in the cold weather. I remember sitting in the back booth — the one closest to the prescription counter — during my high school senior year, working with you to improve the theme I had to write when I entered the Jaycees scholarship competition. And I remember how you and Henry shared my joy when I won that scholarship and went off to WVU. I remember running short of cash my senior year in dental school, and having you guys come to my rescue with a short-term loan. You and Henry helped mold my values and gave me direction at times when I needed it. I remember all these things — but mostly, I remember the laughs. I will be forever grateful to you both, and you can be certain that I will never forget either of you. Remember the good times! “Bobby D.”
