Jacqueline “Jaci” Lucci, 82, of Pittsburgh, PA, passed away on August 17, 2025, at Mercy Hospital following an unexpected illness.

Born on April 6, 1943, in Pittsburgh, Jaci was the eldest of three daughters of the late Guy V. and Dolores A. (Stinner) Mendola. She grew up in Carnegie, PA, and was a graduate of Carnegie High School, Class of 1962. In the late 1970s, she married the love of her life, Frederick “Sonny” Lucci, with whom she shared many years until his passing.

Jaci was a woman of passion and spirit, known for her strong will, endless energy, and unwavering love for her family. She was a fabulous chef who delighted in creating meals from her own kitchen, as well as recreating recipes discovered in her favorite restaurants. She was a typical Italian mother, devoted, protective, and full of life. She loved the beach, cherished music, and was happiest when surrounded by family and friends.

Jaci retired after 17 years as an administrator with the Diocese of Pittsburgh and in keeping with family tradition was a member of the ISDA Lodge 42.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Sonny, and her brother in law, Curt Lehman.

She will be remembered with love by her two sons, R.J. (Vickie) Lucci and Randy J. (Amy Mandrier) Lucci; her sisters, Joan Lehman and Judy (Jim) Modecki; grandchildren, Nicholas and Marissa Lucci, Panna Middlecoff, Bonnie (Chris) Stewart, and Heather (Patty Arabia) Foley; three great-grandchildren, Sabra (Nick) Phillips, Jordan Kauwell, and Kyler Fiano; and two great-great-grandchildren, J.J. and Ryder Phillips. She will also be deeply missed by her  nieces and nephews and her beloved golden retriever, Smokey Joe.

A celebration of Jaci’s life will be held at a later date. Honoring her wishes, her cremated remains will be scattered in the ocean alongside her husband Sonny’s.
