James E. Shepherd

James E. Shepherd, 74, of Weirton, died Thursday, November 18, 2004 at his home. He was born March 6, 1930 in Martins Ferry, OH, son of the late Jacob Floyd and Edna Leasure Shepherd. James was a farmer in Tyler County and also retired from Starck Van Lines where he worked as a truck driver. He was Protestant by faith. He is survived by his brothers David Shepherd and his wife Sharon, Floyd Shepherd, Jr., William Russell Shepherd, Bernard Shepherd, Richard Shepherd all of Weirton and John Shepherd of Kentucky; sisters Betty Shepherd of Follansbee and Shirley Marie Henderson of Wellsburg and his friends John and Wanda Parr of Tyler County, WV. He also leaves several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received Friday from 6–8:30PM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, where funeral services will be held at 8:30PM with Rev. Marvin Taylor presiding. Interment will be at the convenience of the family. James’s family requests that memorial contributions be sent to the American Cancer Society, Hancock County Unit, P. O. Box 2166, Weirton, WV 26062.
