Jamie Ann Guida
September 29, 1961 ~ January 3, 2024
Born in:
Steubenville, Ohio
Resided in:
Weirton, West Virginia
Jamie Ann Guida – an amazing mother, daughter, sister, niece, and friend to many – left this world on January 3, 2024 with her family by her side at only 62 years of age.
Born on September 29, 1961 to J.J. and Rita (Confalone) Guida, Jamie grew up in Weirton, W.V. with her three siblings, Dewey, Rosemary, and Dan, with many aunts, uncles and cousins nearby. In recent years, she also spent much time in New York City visiting her daughter Lindsay.
Jamie’s early life was a time that she looked back on with great joy, and made friendships and memories that lasted her entire life. She started in family businesses early, serving sandwiches (and causing trouble) with her siblings at their parents’ restaurant Happy Hero, which later became Happy’s on Main Street in Weirton. After graduating from Weir High School in 1979, she became a respiratory therapist before having her daughter and joining her father as a real estate agent at J.J. Guida Airport Realty. She carried on and grew the family business by her father’s side as a broker, consistently rated the #1 real estate agency in Weirton, surrounded by a team of great and supportive agents.
Jamie’s life centered around both her family and her chosen family – the dear friends she made throughout her life. Her magnetic energy shone brightly in any room, and she loved to share music, wine, lots of laughs, and good food with those she loved. She was as loving as she was strong-willed; you couldn’t find someone with a bigger heart or a more wonderful sense of humor. Jamie’s reach was wide – she brought joy to so many and had a gift of inspiring people to be their authentic selves and channel their strength. This was a massive gift she gave to many during the past year as she fought through her illness and encouraged her loved ones to be strong along with her.
She will be remembered for her fiery passion for life and for all of the love she shared with her family and friends. She truly loved each of them and if you knew her, you knew it. She was incredibly selfless, thoughtful, and completely casual about helping people in often extraordinary ways. You would also know that she was the biggest animal lover you could find – she never met a dog that she didn’t love and who didn’t love her back – and her mini schnauzers Layla and Sasha brought her immense joy.
Though her family and friends are profoundly saddened by such a great loss, Jamie encouraged them to be strong, live life to the fullest, and to always cheers to her when having a good bottle of wine (she would encourage everyone reading this to do the same). She will be remembered daily by the people she touched, and her spirit will live on through all she gave to those she loved.
Jamie is survived by her daughter Lindsay and her fiancé Chris, both of whom she loved fiercely and was loved fiercely by. Her siblings were her rocks and she was theirs – she was deeply admired and loved by her brothers Dewey and Danny Guida, sister Rosemary Guida, and sister-in-law Laura Guida, all of whom she loved so very much. She loved her nieces Kelli McIntyre and Megan Guida, and nephews J.J. Guida and Dan Guida Jr., and her adoring Aunt Linda McDonald, Uncle Dewey Guida, Aunt Karen Guida, and Aunt Shirley Guida. She is also survived by many cousins who were also dear friends, as well as countless friends, colleagues, and people she met and knew through her work in real estate.
She is preceded in death by her parents, J.J. and Rita Guida, Aunt Constance Griffo, Uncle Peter “Kang” Griffo, Uncle Tony Guida, Aunt Mary Mazzone, and Uncle Tony Mazzone.
Jamie’s life and legacy will be celebrated during visitation on Saturday, January 13, 2024 from 2:30-5:30 p.m. at Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, WV, with a brief service at 5:30 p.m.

My dear cousin was a strong willed person who did everything with great passion. Jamie had no reservations sharing how she felt on things and lived what she believed. She proudly carried on her father’s reality business maintaining the high standards JJ set. Although I’ve lived away now from my Weirton family and friends for forty years, my fond memories of growing up with my cousins have closed that distance. I will miss you Jamie and pray for your soul. I’m sure you were welcomed into paradise by my uncle JJ and my aunt Rita. Rest in peace, your battle is over.
Love, your cousin Johnny.
My sincere condolences to her family and friends. 🙏
HER LAUGH!! When she was tickled by some antic we would share, usually through a job she’d call on my business to help her with, her “ALL IN” laughter was contagious!! I will miss that most, but will never be far from it in my heart and mind!! Her bold and free spirit taught me so much about what truthfulness means in every avenue of life, especially in one’s circle of love.
If our loving Father didn’t break the mold at her birth, well He surely has at her rebirth💝
Thank you Jamie for EVERYTHING you gave to our family and so many others. May we be wise enough to carry these lessons forward!!!
We will ALWAYS love you dearly and praying for comfort, strength and peace for her family and friends. ❤️🤟🏼❤️
Remembering a life and touched so many…sincere condolences…May Jamie rest in eternal peace.

Jamie, you were truly one of a kind. You were a daughter, a sister, a mother, a friend and in all those roles you fulfilled them in ways that will never be forgotten.
You may be gone from this realm but you’re still with all of us. We loved you in life, we love you in your passing – we will love you forever.
Have many fun memories from our Happy Hero days and beyond. Rita should have fired all of us for the headaches we caused her back then. Fly High Jamie!
To the family of Jamie,
My God bless and comfort you during this most difficult time. Jamie is now flying among the Angels. With deepest sympathy.
Class of 79.
I cry for the legacy this loved one leaves in death, for the ways the world has been made different by their presence, for the memories that become both more beautiful and more painful on this side of death. And I pray that the work You have accomplished in this remarkable life will grow deeper, wider, and stronger in the days to come, uninhibited by a weak opponent like death.
To the Guida Family. My condolences for your loss. I knew Jamie from elementary through high school. She was a independent and determined individual. Sending healing prayers and comfort during this tough time.
Our condolences to family and friends. You are all in our thoughts and prayers.
