jeffrey konnovitch

Jeffrey Tyler Konnovitch, age 29, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 26, 2025, surrounded by loving company at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, WV. He will be remembered most for his perseverance, his resilience in life, and his precious, ever-present smile.

He was born on September 22, 1995, at WMC in West Virginia to Karen S. Davis Konnovitch and Jeff Konnovitch.

A 2013 graduate of Weir High School, Jeffrey was a miracle baby, born with cerebral palsy. Although it left him with limitations for work, his full-time job was making everyone laugh and smile—and he was the best in his field.

Jeffrey was a man who found joy in anything and everything, despite his circumstances, and always wore a smile no matter what this world dealt him.

Like his momma, Jeffrey truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures: hosting friends and his loud, loving family, strolling up and down the driveway, listening and singing to his favorite country music, going out to eat with his dad and “Andon,” and finishing meals with a sundae or slice of strawberry pie. He loved long car rides, was always the best co-pilot, and even enjoyed the occasional trip to the casino. Jeffrey was a selfless man who exuded strength, optimism, light, and love in all he did, always reminding others not to take life for granted.

Jeffrey was preceded in death by his loving and selfless mother—his tethered soul—Karen Konnovitch; his great-grandparents Mary & William Brandon, Suzanna & Nicholas Konnovitch, and Mildred & Wayne Davis; his grandparents JoAnne & Gary Davis and Blanche & William Konnovitch; and his uncles Darryl Tomes, Bob Littleton, and Billy Konnovitch.

He is survived and will be remembered with love by his father, Jeffrey S. Konnovitch; his brother, Brandon Konnovitch; aunts Marge (Pete) Bollock, Patty (Darrold) Channing, Kathy (Gary) Swiger, Susan (John) Armstrong, Barbara Littleton, Terry (Keith) Smith, Jody Davis, and Sherry Tomes; uncles Michael (Dorothy) Konnovitch, Gary (Georgeanna) Davis, and John (Lynette) Davis; as well as nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, teachers, and friends.

Family, friends, and all whose lives were touched by Jeffrey will be notified of the details in terms of a Celebration of Life, honoring his wishes to reminisce, grieve, and support one another once the family is prepared.

Jeffrey’s wishes for cremation will be honored and carried out at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home Crematory, 3219 Main Street, Weirton.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Jeffrey’s name may be made to the nonprofit organization Easterseals, to support children and adults with disabilities in thriving and living independently.
